I came in here for the first time a couple of months ago when summer was winding down. I really enjoyed the overall experience. I did not eat here though as it was quite late on a Saturday night.The atmosphere of this place is fabulous; with a dance floor and booths inside and a tiki bar outside overlooking the river. There were picnic tables set up outside with a band playing. There was also corn hole being played toward the back by the river. So as you my have guessed, there is a lot of space both inside and outside.Their hours of operation are a bit confusing though. They are not open all of the time. And as lively and fun as this place gets on prime nights in the summertime, I do wonder...
my boat crew made the long trip down from lake st clair on 9/18/21 . and we are glad we did. what a great place !!! we had Ashley, Cassie, and brit serving us . they all did a fantastic job , they were super friendly and fun . Ashley had a smile that could light up a room ! the food was great and huge portions. and the drinks were amazing . keep up the great work , we look forward to seeing you next season ! we do have small suggestion, perhaps during the off season you could put signs up by your boat dockage to help us greenhorn figure out where to dock . have a great winter we will see you in spring !
Very trashy crowd. Guys get invasively patted down by security on the way in and have to pay a cover charge. Cops waiting on the way out at closing time. That shows the place frequently has drama. Which checks out when you look at the crowd. Worst dj I've ever seen. He would talk through every single song and everyone just wanted him to play music, he kept stopping it to talk or poorly singing over it. I think he was wasted. If it wasn't for all that it would be a nice spot on the water. Big bar with outdoor seating in the summer. Wouldn't recommend unless you about that raunchy life
I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I had a terrible experience trying to visit by boat, as they enforced a dress code and refused entry because I was wearing a tank top. Additionally, on a previous visit, my friend fell through the dock and the restaurant offered no compensation. To top it off, they overcharged me on my credit card and insisted I come in person to rectify the error. Overall, a disastrous experience and I will be warning others to steer clear of this establishment.

Yesterday, I visited one of my favorite bars. Unfortunately, the owner is currently away. My friend was not allowed in due to a dress code violation for wearing jogger pants, even though we saw others inside wearing basketball shorts and sweat shorts. This inconsistency doesn't make sense. Additionally, someone in our group was deemed too intoxicated because they were seen drinking from a water bottle while waiting in line to have their ID checked.
This place is absolutely ridiculous! Located on the Detroit River where you can arrive by boat and park there, I was told I couldn't eat there because I was wearing a tank top. It made no sense, as I had come from my boat in 85-degree weather. Why should I have to change my attire just because I arrived by boat? To make matters worse, I saw women wearing tank tops and they were allowed in. The double standard lost them my business.
Smuggler is a fantastic venue for outdoor dancing, featuring a large dance floor and a tiki bar. While the drink prices are somewhat elevated, the outdoor atmosphere is enjoyable. However, inside tends to be quite warm, and there are limited seating options available. They've converted some of the VIP tables, which I believe wasted some valuable space. The food is decent, but overall, the experience shines brighter outdoors.
cannot really check it because they calculate a $5 cover on a Saturday to 5pm. left and went down the road. answer to the owner: so not the place for someone to start a drink on the terrace at the middle day before live entertainment.

I like this place. Everyone has been friendly Idec about waiting for drinks or food during a pandemic!! I'm very grateful you are open and to the staff for showing up, making sacrifices
Great Place-Great Food and location. Would recommend to everyone. The staff is great and it’s worth the drive from surrounding areas. Great place for event and catering.
