The Social Roost is a charming little restaurant located in Downtown St. Pete. It has an elegant ambiance, yet the dress code is casual, making it easy to drop in at any time. While reservations aren’t mandatory, they are advisable. The service was excellent; our server was friendly and attentive, and the presentation of the dishes was impressive. Overall, the food and drinks were quite tasty. My only criticisms are that the prices are a bit high, and the mashed potatoes could have used some salt and butter. However, aside from the potatoes, the food was delightful.
A chicken restaurant should excel in serving exceptional chicken, but unfortunately, none of the four varieties we tried impressed us. The Peruvian chicken was the best among them. Fried chicken, especially in a well-known chicken establishment, should be bone-in, crackling crisp, juicy, and well-seasoned, but none of these qualities were evident. On a positive note, the decor is stunning, the cocktails are creative and tasty, and the service is very attentive. However, they really need to elevate their kitchen offerings.
Our first time. The food was excellent. I can't wait to go back. I had the chicken and waffles. My wife had the chicken pot pie. Our friends had the Peruvian chicken and Bolenese. Sarah was our server and had another table at the other end of the restaurant. She did the best that she could to check on on us.
Came in for the meatloaf which was not ready. Ordered the chicken pot pie but it appears the upper crust of the dish is prepared separately and not with the pie. Pot pie was very liquified and at $26 expected something bigger and better. Might try it again if they have the meatloaf.

We have walked by this restaurant a few times and always wondered how it was so we booked a reservation. From the service, ambience and food we were throughly impressed! Kudos to the owners of this establishment. What a gem you have created and we can wait to dine here again!
Second time for lunch. This time was not as good as the first. I had the chicken pot pie. Not sure, but the taste and texture of the chicken seemed right out of the can, funny taste. My wife had the Korean chicken sandwich that was ok. Not sure we will be going back
Lunch was amazing atmosphere was eclectic and different. I had the curry chicken sandwich on baguette extremely tasty full of flavor the way it was awesome. We already booked a table for dinner to go back with our husbands.
Very good. Decided to eat at the bar. Fun interaction with others. Delicious cocktails… must try “The Goddess” Delicious 2 small plates…. Meatballs Mac Cheese Great Service from Bar tender
