When you're hungry for food try the beef and broccoli, almond chicken and chicken fried rice. The sauce from beef and broccoli mix with the rice is excellent, or just eat the stir fry by itself is also great! I always order these main three dishes plus other side dishes I will like to try out once in a while. Don't want MSG, they offer that option but it isn't listed as an option on their menu.Overall, my friends never complained about the food and the prices are perfect.
Second time I have gotten take-out here and no improvement. Sweet & Sour Shrimp and Chicken were great big doughy balls with a wee bit of meat. Spring rolls were greasy and slimy. Couldn't find any almonds in the Almond Guy Ding. The broccoli in the Beef & Broccoli was good, but there was no beef. The only plus is it wasn't too salty. Conclusion: the worst of junk Chinese food. Also expensive.
I have a dislike for dark meat, so I don't like their chicken balls because of that. I also have a dislike for establishments that are cash only. Not because they're inconvenient, but because they have no electronic record of the transaction, and so they charge 15% HST, but none of it likely gets paid out to the government.
While attending university in St. John's, we found this little gem of a Chinese take-out. The food was fabulous 15+ years ago, and is still fabulous! Our favourite consists of the chicken balls, pork balls, fried rice and beef/broccoli. When I'm visiting St. John's, and craving Chinese food, Song Hee's is my go-to take-out! Book a table now
I remember seeing this place years ago. Last night was my first time. It was ok. He cooked and she took the money. Only cash. Not much meat in any of the dishes. Almost vegetarian it was so absent. I did enjoy the flavour and could tell how only low amount of salts were added.
This spot is a hidden gem! Awesome Chinese food. I'm been eating here for years. By the time I gets home with the takeout, I've got half of the chicken balls eaten! Mudder gets some mad but I don't care, I can't help myself!
Great place to get some really good chinese food at a really good price. The owners are also very pleasant and friendly people. Song Hee's is the number one place in St John's to get a really good meal.
