This was the best Alm (mountain restaurant) we visited whist on holiday in nearby Saalbach and we visited a few. Went twice the first time for lunch where we both had the goulash served with crusty bread and the second time later in the afternoon had an excellent apple strudel. We accessed it by going up the cable car from Hinterglemm and walking along the ridge (easy walk for the reasonably fit). There is both indoor and outdoor seating with spectacular views down into the valley below. Very welcoming staff and very reasonable prices with large portions.
Het mooie terras is zeer zonnig, je gaat echt zoeken voor een schaduwplekje met een fris briesje. Het eten is een geweldige presentatie op enkeleniveautjes gepresenteerd. Zelfgebakken brood en een ( zelfgebrande?) snaps voor de vertering. Echt te veel voor ons, maar heerlijk.
The Sonnalm has it all with stunning views, gorgeous food, lovely staff and the delightful owners Manu and Christoff. Do not miss the brunch offered at the weekend, it's a real treat. Make sure to book to avoid disappointment. Enjoy!

Nice place to stop and take some time when on the slopes. Located at the foot of the Sunliner lift, this hotel has indoor and outdoor seats, including sun loungers to soak up the fireplace in the sun.
Nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung mit zwei kleinen Kindern war das die perfekte Hütte. Das Essen Hammermässig gut, schnell und frisch. Hausgemachter Holundersaft und tolle Teller. Wir kommen wieder.
Reasonably priced tasty lunch, although same menu that in almost every slope restaurants. Very nice bar service outside, good atmosphere at the closing of the day. Sun sets directly on the terrace.
Stopped off here for a drink and snack during a walk down from Reiterkogel top station. Delicious home made bread and wurst with cheese. Gorgeous views and lovely staff with friendly service.

Obwohl wir schon zum 3.Mal in Hinterglemm sind, haben wir heute erst die Sonnalm entdeckt. Sehr freundliche, offene Leute dort und ne klasse Suppen. Sehr lohnenswert!!
Go for the ribs on special... and have the apple cake with vanilla sauce, and don't forget the snaps!
