We had a fantastic experience at your restaurant. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. The service was impeccable. The food was prepared perfectly. What I would consider, from my experiences at other 5 star Italian restaurants, is minor but separates you from the best. I would create a better mood. Your lighting is saying that you are not into acknowledging an experience. The overhead lights are intrusive. They hurt your eyes. It screams no atmosphere. Dim them and invest in some sort of lighting on the table as in battery operated candles. Music is also lacking. Acoustical Italian music is always in fashion. I and my friend are out to try all the restaurants in Statesville that I have been here for almost my whole life, but I never tried Sorrento's. The service we got was amazing. Our server, Chad, was extremely attentive and very friendly! I'm a little protected when it comes to food, so I had a question about a soup I've never heard of. He'll take a small part out so I could try it, and it was delicious! Our whole food was, especially the garlic knots. He was so incredibly nice to us and often checked us to make sure we're okay. Not to mention, the restaurant is very clean and well kept with a great atmosphere. I'm sure I'll come back next time after an Italian fix.
We have an order for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner on Friday. When we arrived Friday at the arranged time, they had no record of the order. At this point they said it would be over an hour before the food could be cooked and not even act apologetic. This is a very unprofessional way of doing business. I would never recommend it for a big order if the event is important to you. It is regrettable that you can give no less than one star in a rating system, they deserve less.
We stumbled this place by chance to drive home from Florida last year. I couldn't believe how delicious the pizza was. This year we drove back from Florida and had to stop getting a pizza. It wasn't disappointed. We will definitely stop every time we go through this area. The staff is friendly and exceptional. Very recommended!!
