Here it is, right in front of our noses, and most don't even know it exists...I am a foodie of the first order, and I was amazed to find out that I was ignorant of this restaurant's existence.A dear lady friend of mine insisted that I try this hip, funky, restaurant. So at the first opportunity I did, last Saturday, January 7th.You'd think you were entering an elicit speakeasy, it's so hard to find.But, once in, and seated in a cozy room with over the top eclectic decor, the adventure began.Our server, Brittney, was most helpful in waltzing us through the menu.I ordered Lobster bisque ( made without gluten, as I am, sadly, a Celiac ), and it was one of the most flavourful basques I have had...

Went last night w a girlfriend. We had late night food and drinks. The grilled zucchini is so so good. Fried cauliflower was terrific, and the scallop gratin Our server was awesome. She recommended things that were a perfect fit, sold us on import roulette beers, and took great care of us all night. Ambience is perfect for any type of outing, the soundtrack is always interesting, and the beers and food are so, so reasonably priced. I have never, ever been disappointed coming here, and can't wait to go back! (They aren't part of Dine About Winnipeg, so they're doing their own fixed-price menu, and it sounds delicious and is an outstanding deal).Bonus: they take reservations now :)

No phone, no signage, no advertising! The only way you get there is because someone told you about this place. A wonderful experience at Sous Sol! A bit of a mystery finding it, but once you're there the experience starts. Friendly welcoming by staff, unique decor, soft lighting, and the mystery of the rubber chickens which adds to the mix. The cocktails are wonderful ( try the jägerita, delicious). My wife had the steelhead trout and it was cooked to perfection. I had the pork loin and it was cooked perfectly. We shared a creme brûlée and it was heavenly. If you are looking for a unique place with awesome food, find the Sous Sol! Definitely going back whenever we can.

I'm so happy our son recommended this restaurant, it has a unique style, the food was fabulous and the service was top notch! Kudos to chef Mike Robins and Sous chef Emma, and our server Eric! We really enjoyed the summer three course special menu!!! You made our evening very special and memorable! (It's definitely tempting to keep this restaurant's location secret...but it's on confusion corner) We will definitely be back! Book a table now

Sometimes when you enjoy something, you wonder if you should share or not. It's a business that relies on positive feedback, so here we are.I don't usually go into details of our meal, but we enjoyed everything, our chicken liver, drinks, oysters, fish, stew...all of it lol.But on top of it, is the unique decor and great tunes.Staff were top notch, you'll see us again soon.

I have the oysters as a starter and they were rather without flavour and the supplied mignonette could have been better. The rack of lamb was cooked well and had a nice sauce . The gnocchi were a little mushy, but tasty. The wine list is decent. My one complaint would be that the food could have a little more imagination. Service wasvery good.

What a precious gem! This restaurant nailed each and every dish. Fried escargot in curry sauce? Who would have guessed. Lamb Tenderloin? Wonderful!! Lemon lavender crème brûlé? The best remake of a classic dessert. This place deserves top rankings in Winnipeg. Wonderful meal!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. For some of us, the candlelit atmosphere and eclectic décor evoked fond memories of small Parisian restaurants in the sixties. The food and presentations were superb and our server was a pure delight. Book a table now
