With a high online ratings and recommendations, we decided to try this place for an early dinner today. We ordered online three entrees for pick up...blackened shrimp over grits, fried catfish and shrimp with Cajun fries, and a full seafood gumbo. From the time I ordered (2:55 p.m. , to the time it was ready for pickup (4:15 p.m. was just over 1.25 hours. The subtotal was $46. 1 Not sure why it took this long to prepare my order, plus it was in the late afternoon! By the time I got home, every thing was warm, and the fried items were luke warm. 2 Before leaving the store, I checked my items and confirmed there were 3 items in the bag. However, the seafood gumbo over rice $14.50 was in a smal...

Good selection of southern favorites with a pretty authentic flavor. Having been to New Orleans many times and having tried all of their well known ?best place for?? IMO, the flavors are right, that doesn?t mean they are great or that they may suit Bay Area palettes. We ordered a bunch of different dishes and they were all pretty good. Spicy, salty and some very peppery. I wasn?t crazy about the soft shell crab, especially since the gills and stuff where fried with the crab and not removed beforehand. I found the string beans overpowering with the amount of salt and pepper. Overall a decent experience where there was takeout or limited indoor and outdoor seating options. I would go back when...

I visited Southern Comfort Kitchen for the first time and really enjoyed my experience. The fried catfish with Cajun fries was outstanding, with perfectly crispy breading. The fried chicken strips paired with Cajun fries were equally delicious, featuring tender chicken and flavorful coating. While I tried each dish separately, I found the gumbo, red beans and rice, and chicken sausage jambalaya came together best when mixed. I also gave the hush puppies a try, even though they’re not usually my favorite. The only downside was receiving a menu from a family friend that didn’t list any prices. Overall, the food was flavorful and satisfying, though a bit pricey. I’ll definitely order from South...

The shrimp were unexpectedly tiny; I might as well have chosen the Who Dat Shrimp Po Boy, which promises large Gulf shrimp. There was a time I ordered the Who Dat Shrimp Po Boy with the sauce on the side, but they even forgot to include the extra sauce I paid for. Whenever I request extra sauce on the side, they seem unusually stingy with it, as if it’s not important. I’ve ordered the same dish repeatedly, and it’s frustrating to keep encountering this issue. The food is absolutely worth it! It really transports me back to our journey in New Orleans and all the incredible cuisine the city is famous for. The staff is friendly, service is quick, and it's bustling and packed inside, just like most places in the French Quarter. It's nice to see them on a larger street side, but I will definitely be returning soon!

At Southern Comfort Kitchen, the Side Gumbo was acceptable, though the rice was a bit undercooked. Unfortunately, the Soft Shell Po'Boy was disappointing—the crab had an off taste and the coleslaw was subpar. Only the bread and remoulade were enjoyable. The Brussels sprouts from the menu were fairly decent.

Amazing Southern flavors! I tried the crab fries, Who Dat Chicken, Southern chicken sandwich, and crawfish étouffée. The crab fries and Who Dat Chicken truly stood out with perfect seasoning, crispiness, and freshness. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

The Jambalaya was tasty, but it could have used a bit more meat. The chicken strips were small but delicious. I wish I had known that the greens were actually a salad because the dressing made the strips soggy. The regular chicken strips were good as well. Book a table now

The Chicken Sausage Jambalaya was disappointing, with just one piece of chicken and two sausage slices, making it a small portion for the price. However, the Blackened Shrimp with Grits was tasty and generously portioned!
