We had a reservation for a table downstairs, which was ready when we arrived. Our waitress was friendly, but it was clear she was very busy. Unfortunately, we weren't given any instructions and were left without menus. We had to borrow one from another table and discovered that we could either order through the app or at the bar. However, there was no signal downstairs, so I had to go upstairs to place our order on the app. Our food arrived 25 minutes later, but our drinks were missing. The waitress informed us that there was no drink order, so I showed her the screenshot and confirmation of payment. She then told us she couldn't fetch the drinks for us and that we would have to go to the ba...

Despite making a reservation, the staff at the restaurant seemed unaware of our arrival. They were also quite rude. The roast dishes we ordered were burnt, and we were advised to choose something else from the menu even though it was already 1:45pm on Father's Day. We were seated at a small table for three people, despite booking for four. Our starters took a long time to arrive and when they did, they were at room temperature. We waited an additional half hour for our main course, which never arrived. We eventually canceled our order, fearing we would get sick later on. The restaurant offered us a full refund, a free round of drinks, and we were not the only ones to experience such poor ser...
Lovely pub 4 minutes walk london bridge station. Goujon sandwiches and risotto delicious. Nice atmosphere at lunchtime. Friendly and helpful staff. My rating is based on the fact that none of the staff wore face masks when serving food to the table. Neither were they...wearing masks behind the bar. I am not sure at how pedantic I am being, but to me, especially serving food to the table, masks should be worn. A bottle of Pinot Grigio and sparkling water was £30, which is a little steep in my book to say the least, as I work in the catering industry and the wine was no more than £6 and the bottle of water £1 I tried to contact the pup/company direct before I posted this, but unfortunately the...
I've been going to the Southwark Tavern for years but, as so many other reviews have said, the staff have become unbearably rude and I sadly won't be going back. This isn't based on just one incident but rather the attitude of the majority of...staff, on several occasions, is that they would rather not be there, they will do the bear minimum to help and in a number of instances were openly contemptuous of the customers. On my most recent visit the us versus them' attitude spilled over into actual verbal confrontation. The atmosphere was so hostile we wondered what we night have done to offend them and we ended the night having a chat outside with another group of customers who had exactly th... Book a table now
Booked this pub for a nice Sunday roast. Waited for our booked table for 15 minutes to be told there were no roasts left. We were pretty disappointed with this from the start… we ordered burgers which were over priced and very average. Then we...finished our meals and 2 people on the table beside us got delivered 2 roasts dinners, we confronted the bar staff about this and they quite simply couldn’t care less. Awful service, awful food in an awful pub. There’s a subway opposite, better off going there, kinder staff and nicer food!!!
Great place to people watch when sitting outside here though tables and chairs really crammed in. Our sausage rolls were very small and poor quality for the price, but drinks good. Beware if you order on the App the pub may not have your item...in stock and cannot refund you if you pay by Apple Pay. My husband had to get 2 alternative drinks as the cider he wanted had run out. Not great service from the staff.
We walked into the pub with some hesitation after reading some concerning reviews with headlines like "Ruthless Ruth" and "Avoid." However, my friend was craving a roast dinner, so we decided to give it a try. Thankfully, the reviews were not accurate. The roast was delicious, the atmosphere in the cozy cellar was lively yet relaxing. We were impressed by the team. Keep an eye out for this hidden gem!
my friends and I work in cocktailbars. friend ordered a tommys margarita, which was a tequila with lime in the round. no sirup and glass were not cleaned. I ordered long island, which was in the ground gin, koks and sweetener, and my other friend ordered a gin and. a tonic that came in a whisky glass. the lady who served us was also very rude. would not recommend. We were very impressed with the service. Friendly staff, did not feel rushed at all. Very well organised making it enjoyable. The food was delicious and plenty of it! Thank you for making our day great. Table of 5.
