First things first, it's BYOB, which is great and keeps the cost down. It's not so great if you forget this. Having prefaced my review such, this is an interesting neighborhood gem, for sure. if you like Cuban food already, then you won't be disappointed in any way with the cuisine. It's tasty. We had two entrees: the snapper and pork with rice and black beans. Both were outstanding, with large but not crazy portions. The service was very good, the hostess was a buzzing bee working hard to keep everyone seated and ensured the trains ran on time. The waitress we had was charming and very knowledgeable about the food. With regard to the ambiance, it's important to take a good look at the photo...
Everyone was very happy. I had the marinated steak with black beans and rice My wife had the Pulled pork. My sister in law raved about the Cuban Bowl My brother in law had the seafood bowl The shrimp scampi and sausage appetizer were great. Soup was excellent Finished it off with coffee and the ice cream chocolate/banana desert. Service was tremendous!! Thanks John/Howell
We were for a girl weekend. Dinner was amazing, service was great. We could turn around without screaming. The owner came to our table, he was very warm and friendly. Will definitely go back.
As usual, the meals at Spanish Olive were excellent. They were short of wait staff that day but still managed to get us fed in a timely manner.
