Having lived and worked in many Asian countries for many years, I was looking forward to dining at the Tamarind. The menu one can find on their website is rather confusing, but you get a glimpse of what is on offer. I still have to get used to a menu where every ingredient of the dish is mentioned as part of the name of the dish. At first I thought that the menu was lacking concept. It felt written by someone who had read about Asian food but never experienced it. But then I saw that they have created their own concept of Asian food the Australian way and this is okay.The restaurant is a really nice place. The service was as good as it gets, friendly and quick.The food is good. Nice colorful...

It was disappointing to be advised when we arrived for our Italian cooking class (a 50th birthday gift and an opportunity to learn how to put our pasta maker to better use) that another chef had been called in overnight to instead provide a Thai cooking class. Without prior warning to class participants (the reminder email the day before still pointed to an Italian cooking class), I'd suggest not a very nice position to put their chef in. We'd also travelled and paid for two nights accommodation (elsewhere), to be able to attend the class. Whilst a full refund was offered (and accepted) the experience seems noteworthy. Based on our experience it seems that if you are happy to accept a change...

We have been wanting to dine at the Spicers Tamarind Restaurant for sometime. Booking a table was hassle free as the restaurant does cater for a large number. Driving up to property, as with all the Spicers retreats that we have been to, has that certain mystic feel to it. The restaurant has a luxurious ambient. Service was attentive. We ordered the degustation menu. Even though it was a 5 course menu, I think we ended up having about 8 courses. Food was delicious with a combination of mainly Thai and Chinese (Even Taiwanese) flavors and a little western influence. There is definitely enough food to fill you up but I have to warn you not to have too much rice as it will fill you up too much...

My hubby and I ate here tonight. Our evening was just delightful from the moment we entered the restaurant; we were greeted warmly by all of the staff and the ambience was very inviting. We tried both of the mocktails on the menu (designated driver and passionfruit mule) and both were light and refreshing. We had the bang bang chicken and mee grob small plates, and the crispy duck and sa cha chicken large plates. All of which was utterly delicious with complex flavor profiles. Whilst neither of us really had room for dessert we shared a valhrona chocolate torte. You seriously need to try this dessert. It's not large at all and just trust me, you will find the room! Wouldn't hesitate to recom... Book a table now

We had breakfast and dinner here. Both were delicious meals. The five course dinner provided a lot of different and interesting flavours. Having lived and travelled across Asia I wasn't sure this would be unique, but it certainly was, and in wonderful ways. Lots of flavours I was familiar with but combined in different ways. A lovely experience. I'd also recommend pairing with the wine. And service was exceptional.

The food is wonderful! Obvious that they use the freshest possible ingredients, which is then made into the most delicious fragrant dishes. We had a selection of their small dishes to start our meal and the cauliflower and beef tatami were firm favourites! As for the large dishes the orange curry was awesome and would highly recommend as were the Mooloolaba prawns! ( we really loved it all so hard to judge!!)

Great meals, sharing is the way to go!! One of my favourite snacks was Deep Fried Cauliflower. Service was faultless. Pricey, but meals are a little out of the ordinary. Worth a visit. Book a table now
