we were in the opposite on Sunday browsing furniture stores and went to spoon for an breakfast at 10 o'clock. the caffe was busy, but not excessively full and we had the choice to sit inside or outside. we ordered the waffels and the salmon and avo on sourdough (especially for the day). we sat outside. the opposite was clean and we noticed that the moats could bring their dogs. our coffee and meals came out immediately. both met expectations. the meals were a good size, tasty and as expected for the price of around 16-$18 each. the speck was sufficiently crispy, the ice was not melted and the waffels were not too oily. the avo and salmon bowl could be made by additional garnishs like...read...

I obviously didn't hate it as much as much as most of the other reviewers.... That being said, I think I know where they are coming from. We were there very early, so could easily see how the wheels would come off, particularly with the service. The food was actually pretty ok/decent. I had mushroom Benedict. Hollandaise was tangy & really good & everything else was above passable, (except the eggs slightly overcooked). Coffee was watery & pretty bad & service was not impressive at all. There was an underlying tinge of disdain from the staff & they seemed harassed & a little surly. There are better options around.
Our 2nd visit and very disappointed with the service from the young lady taking breakfast orders. All I wanted was a simple bacon, eggs and toast and was told this would cost more than if I ordered the Big Spoon Breakfast which was bacon, eggs, chipolatas, chilli beans, mushrooms, Rosti and toast. Apparently I was building a meal. All up cost us $64.90 for 2 breakfasts and 2 flat whites. Won't be visiting again. We'll find somewhere else when next we visit New Farm.
Service was great with friendly staff and the coffee strong in the aroma. Many selections for breakfast from the menu and the fridge near the counter. We order the Spanish omelette, quiche from the fridge, eggs and toast, caffe latte, long black and daily fruit n veg juice. All the dish are well cooked and extra plates offered without asking. The cafe is open in space, clean, very child-friendly and easy access to free parking. Book a table now
Popular with shoppers walking the James St strip looking for a quick coffee or some easy food. The cabinets boast cakes, pies, filos, lasagne etc. Plenty of drinks in cabinets along with coffees and a small menu of offerings. We chose a slice of cake each with a coffee. Both were ok- not amazing and not all that fresh either. The usual stuff but one of us tried the gluten free strawberry cheesecake. I ate a raw cake slice.
wow! was not back over 18 months so chose it as my birthday morning teepause. the business was definitely influenced by the recent closure. it was very quiet. the whole place lacked an energetic mood. fortunately my flat white with segafredo brewed the uniform standard and service this time was not bad previous rating: 4/5 jan 2020; 3/5 mar 2019; 3.5/5 2015
Thanks for my wilted spinach, cold toast and bacon that I could have used to sand wood, which could have been used to build an ark in the time it took to receive my awful meal. No point taking it back, just wanted to leave. Ashamed to have your pathetic, over-priced breakfast inside me.
Truly the worst breakfast I have ever had. Sour dough bread inedible, poached eggs like bullets. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Book a table now
I ordered a double cheeseburger. it was presented with the best a single pattie, no cheese, a small piece salat and no taste.
amazing personal, good eating, good value for money in the local environment.
