St. Andrews is a rural locality 36 km. north-east of Melbourne, between Kangaroo Ground and Kinglake. It was originally named Queenstown, a goldfield, in the area known as the Caledonia Diggings. By 1865 it was also known as St. Andrews, and the presence of large numbers of Scottish miners gave rise to both “Caledonia” and “St. Andrews”.Today it is fast becoming one of Victoria’s top live music venues, famous around Australia for attracting great Blues and Roots musicians to perform in the wonderful atmosphere that a huge open fire, no pokies and traditional pub hospitality can offer.St Andrews Pub has produced many CD’s of performances by some of Australia’s top musicians winning praise fro...

This pub has always been hit and miss, but the last visit was probably the worst ever. With two visitors from Singapore we thought we would go for dinner and band on Saturday night. My steak was was tasteless and tough and the salad wilted mess, ordered rare but got grey!! Cousin from Singapore is veggie he ordered nachos that arrived after every one was finished their meals and we had to give them two reminders. Used to have atmosphere, but not anymore, we have gone there on and off for over twenty years...I think we have now had the last visit absolute waste of money!

Stopped into the St Andrews Hotel for Sunday lunch. By chance there was a charity event running supported by heaps of cars and bikes. There was a band called the Screaming Eagles playing as well. On this occasion, given just how very busy the pub was, the meals came out slowly. They were fresh and hot.The pub is has a rustic feel to it with lots of bench seats inside and tables and chairs for outside dining. There were quite a few staff working on the day which helped with service times. I'd return another time to experience the pub when it's a little less busy.

Very attentive staff so tick for them, the meals however were uninteresting, Pork was the roast of the day, was hard and not easy to cut, no apple sauce, chips with a roast? and veges that needed a tad more steaming. Lemon pepper squid on a bed of chips with veges was cold, the tatar sauce have no idea what it was but it was tasteless. The cup of tea was lukewarm, but the latte was piping hot.Two points for staff only, wont be back for another meal Book a table now

We came here on a Sunday for lunch with family and found the lace very comfortable and warm, the food was very good and large size portions. The wine list was very good and they have bands on the weekends which also is an attraction.I would definitely come back again.

This old fashioned pub with its added beer garden is plain, simple and no frills. The service is good and the meals reasonably priced. If you're not expecting the earth then this place will do for a casual meal.

I had the chicken Kiev and was one of the best I've ever had. My wife had the nacho Parma which was full of flavour and both portions were a great size. A great way to spend a Sunday arvo. Book a table now

Great menu and service. Always love this rustic hotel that I have been to for 30 or more years. Be early on Saturdays because the market over the road is really busy.
