St John's Fish - Table reservation

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant tonight. The owner was extremely rude to a man in his seventies, and I will never return. It is unacceptable to speak to anyone, especially the older generation, in such a disrespectful manner. I was simply trying to check on the man's order as he had been waiting for a long time, and the owner's behavior was appalling. There are plenty of other restaurants and fish and chips places to choose from. My heart went out to the young adults working there who were lovely. The owner's behavior is disgraceful. I would advise avoiding this place at all costs. Shame on you!

As a family we have take-away fish and chips a couple of times a month, and have found St Johns Fish Bar to be consistently excellent. The fish is always perfectly cooked, with a light, non greasy batter as are the chips. This evening we had Haddock and it was as good as I have ever had -anywhere-including Rick Steins (takeaway) in Padstow!

Always a good sign was the queue and it didn't disappoint. The fish was cooked fresh, was soft and succulent covered in the most mouthwateringly thin crispy batter and the chips were plentiful and proper potatoes. Shame we were on hols so unlikely to experience again, Moore's the pity!

My granddaughter and I enjoyed delicious fish and chips at this restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and the service was quick. We will definitely be returning.

First visit since reopening, used to be best in town but obviously things have changed. Very greasy, mushy chips and cod batter.
