Picked up a $108 order, with 4 dim sims 2 crab sticks missing. I rang them to say items were missing, and they were very rude and said the only solution was to come back and pick them up I’m a local, so...simply wanted to collect them next time so we could eat before the food got cold. Ended up telling them not to worry about it and then they had the nerve to ring me back, to tell me with attitude, that “you are wrong”, as they hadn’t charged me for the dim sims but I had charged me for the crab sticks (so I should come back to get a refund for two crab sticks. Honestly). I think calling the customer back after being so rude only to be rude again and offer no solution has to be the epitome o...

my extended family are st leonards native and they knew theo and family that ran this place for years. theo sold and now the business has taken a turn for the worst! first price: they pay for the privilege to have fish and chips in this coastal position, nothing new there. before was the quality and fresh of the product theo produced good to pay. I'm afraid this load has increased the prices again. quality: fish was dry and a small, stingy portion. probably frozen and not freshly marketed. chips, potato cakes, etc. are all frozen and not especially in some way. So what is the point of paying a high price? I would be very surprised if this business could survive for any time. it is a tourist...
I ordered and went in to get food. Eat was prompt and ordered $120.00 worth on food. one of the articles was a burger with the go. got burger and found it only to have patty, salat and a ei. rang the business and was asked and was told it came with patty, speck, ei, wobbles, tomaten, salat. said “Maddie” and her answer was and what do you want me to do it? customer service in his finest! when I said I came in and asked for her name, she hesitated a few seconds, as if she had forgotten her name and then hanged on me. when she cried back, she told me that her manager was too busy to talk and could not do anything about it! fish and chip shop, asking them, did they have a worker named maddie?
The Golden Flake Fish Chip shop has the highest quality of Australian caught fish, one must be careful as a lot of fish and chip shops are giving you fish and crustaceans from Asia to cut back on the cost, but if you appreciate...good food you can be assured of that at the Golden Flake . The old adage you only get what you pay for. Elias from the Golden Flake tells me that their fish is local and not frozen, always fresh which makes a huge difference. Their fish is moist and tender. Accolades to them. They have won me as a regular customer. Book a table now
Very average customer service, excessive wait time for very pricey over $30 for 2 x fish, 2 x processed not fresh potato cakes, 2 x scallops that were tiny, like 5cent piece tiny, and certainly not fresh and way overcooked, 1 bite and threw scallop...away and $5 chips that was a VERY stingy portion. I'd keep driving honestly.....⁰
Food is always good. Expensive, but good. Unfortunately their customer service is incredibly poor, especially in busier times. As locals, we are the ones who keep coming back all year, not just in summer and unfortunately there’s not a lot of choice in such a...small town. Disappointing.
rang up and ordered and after the arrival it was finished. fish was once cooked and beautifully broken. chips and kartoffel cakes ok
Fish and chips were awful. Chips were not hot and not crunchy. Fish was horrible and batter was awful as well. So dissatisfied. Book a table now
For $1.60 each These are the smallest potato cakes in the state. A case of profiteering and daylight robbery. Stay well away
unbelievable food, said enough. overcooked müll, would probably get a better food out of the müll.
