We were at the restaurant last night and unfortunately have to say: The visit was disappointing. A waiter rinsed his rag in the fountain in the square – the very fountain in which children had been playing and spitting half an hour earlier. And the rag is probably used to wipe the tables nice and clean. That's unhygienic and unacceptable. What was particularly annoying was that we were charged a €5 tip without consulting them. We added an additional €2 because we didn't realize the scam at the time. These were also pocketed without comment. In total, we paid €39 €2 – for 4 x 0.5 l Kölsch and 1 portion of fries, which according to the menu should have only cost €34.10. We didn't receive a bi...
We had a goulash soup that was ok, a chicken carving that was inconceivable, industrial press meat which is simply thrown into the frituse. The children's carving was not better, this was simply a large half-carved carving. The waiters weren't noticeable though nothing was going on in the store we had to get 15min. waiting for the order and almost 30min. until we were finally allowed to pay even though we had reported several times. When paying the hammer, the waiter asks us 3x if the sum is to stay that way because we didn't give a tip. That's a shame. That was my last visit to this place. Not recommended.
In general, I have experienced a lot in Cologne, but that was again a positive experience. The service was courteous and friendly. The food was served within 10 minutes. The menus look like newspapers at first glance, which is really an exciting recognition feature. Especially if you have to ask the waiter if you can get a menu. The food could be more loving. Otherwise, everything is fine. At the moment there is no change in the ambience, as the construction site is operated by the city of Cologne.
You had to wait a long time until a service has arrived, the drinks came very late and then another 45 minutes you had to wait for the food. The burger was really cold, the cheese didn't melt at all and that for a really proud price. Until you could pay many more minutes passed and you had to remember the service several times that you would like to pay.

Have been sitting out there in the beautiful weather today. Was as always cozy and entertaining. Eat as always delicious. Pommes and Halve Hahn. Delicious snack for in between. The waiters are on Zack and friendly. You never have to wait long. A chat with Cologne is always very nice. Always like to come.
According to the reviews something “other” expected. The food was okay, but nothing special. The edge of the burger was very “crispy”. The glasses could have been cleaner. The service was friendly and attentive.
The last time I visited the Ex-Vertretung must have been years ago. I was back in Cologne so I wanted to give it a try again. The food is still great, good service and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
