The menu and food quality is overall very good, I especially like the pie and mash which I would highly recommend but the roast dinner was a bit of a let down, tasted like it was all defrosted. Staff are very friendly and the service...is quick so I always find myself returning. Prices are quite reasonable but they should definitely look into getting a card machine as it is currently cash only. Be prepared for it to get very busy during lunch time as it is one of the most popular places in town, I do think a lot of elderly people stick around for a long time after they’ve finished their meals. Visited here today for the first time and I will definitely be back. We had pie and mash and it came up quickly, piping hot and presented well. The cafe was clean and welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. The toilets were easily...accessible and the ladies toilet was large (for disabled customers) and had a changing unit. A great place to eat with an extensive menu. I will be returning soon.
the caffe was amazing. I ordered sausages and chips and tasted incredible. my father ordered cake and maic and he said it was great. my sister was happy about her meal and so was my mother, who ordered an all-day breakfast. the personal is perfect and eating is no problem at all. I've visited this place before and it's just crazy. really would visit again.
I went to this restaurant with my family and tried the pie, mash, and eels. It was pretty good - hot, tasty, and served quickly. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was very clean. It was busy and popular, but overall a great experience.

This place has an amazing array of food on offer and the food is very good and the waiting staff are fast and friendly. It’s an excellent little diner right in the heart of the high street too. We regularly go there for their breakfasts...and a nice cuppa.
I spotted a new pie and mash shop that had just opened in Rayleigh today, so I made the effort to travel several miles from my house to acquire some cakes for my freezer. Unfortunately, the shop was closed.
Sometimes pop in on a Saturday or Sunday morning for a bit of breakfast before doing a bit of shopping Staff always happy and efficient Food is always served fast, very good and reasonably priced.
