WHAT AN ABSOLUTE LET DOWN this time, a pokey dining room of barely 6 tables. Converted the bar into rooms so no more stunning views or atmosphere. Cramped, tables were bare despite us booking in advance, limited drinks menu (Two cocktails one was out of stock) nothing on draft and no spirits or soft drinks detailed. Couldn’t read the menu on the mirror as written in pen that blended in. The waitress was terrible, ordered drinks including fizz which she didn’t offer to pour and neglected to put it in a wine cooler. Cutlery was thrown at us, condiments had to be asked for which were passed around the tiny room did they really only have one set of salt and pepper? Food arrived and it was luke w...

Several visits have been made to this establishment and I can honestly say that the food is absolutely fantastic. I've always turned up to collect my food and every time I'm greeted with a warm welcome. The tables have always been laid very professionaly. The atmosphere is very upbeat and relaxing. Since they have changed the layout due to extremely important circumstances which don't concern anyone else, they have made a tremendous effort to ensure business can run as efficiently as possible. I will continue to you visit this restaurant (Yes small but very cosy) not just for really tasty food but even for a drink and a bit of banter. Well done to the team, family, staff, everyone involved f...

We booked for the star and garter and when we arrived it was clear something had changed. Instead of the old superb restaurant we now had something totally different. The main dining room had I think been converted to more accommodation and it almost felt like as part of that deal they had to keep a restaurant open. What was left was a half hearted excuse of a place. No salt/pepper on the tables and available on request only (1 set per restaurant), no corkscrew (wtf), cans of cocktails from Waitrose, no draft beers. The person serving and fixing drinks, clearly had not the experience or training to do it. £18 a head for the food which to be honest was a pleasant surprise but was totally ruin...

Firstly I have to say that we booked a table at the restaurant because of the reviews stating the great views of the Falmouth harbour from here. Unfortunately this part of the restaurant has been converted to accommodation. All that is left are four tables at the front with a view of the road. We had Sunday roast which was ok, but pricey at £18. Wine is limited to house red/white/rose with a limited choice of ales. One hour into our visit I was asked if the waitress could take one of the two small tables we were using for another booking. So the three of us bunched around a single table. We were not even asked if we would like desert. Overall not the best experience. The accommodation side o... Book a table now

So disappointed with cocorico which was formerly the star and garter an amazing pub/restaurant. We were unaware that this had changed and is now a poky dining room. Its identity was lost, no more sea views, the tables were not laid and the whole restaurant had to share a salt and pepper! We ordered the roast beef and chicken. The Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were excellent, the beef was tough and the other vegetables were ok. The drinks selection was average and they didn’t have a corkscrew! We were not asked if we’d like any more drinks after the initial drink. It all just felt very amateurish. We wouldn’t return, which is a shame as it was previously our favourite restaurant in Falmouth...

This used to be a nice pub but now it’s a poky dining room seating about 14 covers in total. The waitress was flakey and looked surprised at being asked for wine glasses to go with the wine we ordered. We had to ask for water, water glasses and salt. Re wine, there is only house red or house white. Likewise, there were only 2 menu choices: chicken or beef. The food was good 4 of us had roast beef but there was only one pepper pot for the whole restaurant (we know because the waitress took it away from us when another table asked for pepper). The service was terrible and this feels like a lazy cafe. I cannot recommend. Avoid.

I must admit that when I saw that the Star and Garter only really has roast chicken as an option I was a little concerned. However, it was really, really amazing roast chicken with really lovely side dishes. I would definitely return and totally recommend.
