I have driven past this diner car many times and always considered stopping in. If I had known it was ALIEN THEMED, I would have visited much sooner! I adore the UFO above the sign outside, as well as the red booths, silver metal decor, sci-fi movie posters, and alien decorations inside. The waitress embodied the classic roadside diner waitress vibe, which I appreciated. The mix of local regulars and travelers passing through added to the charming atmosphere. While the diner specializes in burgers and steaks, it would be great to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu. My experience at Starlite on a Saturday afternoon was not great. The diner was cute and retro, but the service was lacking. It took a while for our server to come over and take our drink orders, and the food took 20 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, the food was not good. The gravy on my burger looked and tasted bad, while my spouse's grilled cheese was just average. The staff had issues with their computer system, causing delays in taking orders and calculating bills. We ended up paying cash and leaving, feeling disappointed. Glad to finally stop in. Reminds me of men in black and Paul movie, the atmosphere. The waitress were funny and prompt with service. And check in making sure we were good. Food was definitely a 50 dining experience. With a little bit of today menu you come to know. We had the monte cristo and Caesar salad both were as to be expected. Had there spin of a chef salad but called a crop circle salad portion size was fair for both. As well had a side order of fries with gravy. The had a strong flavour of beef which is nice for a change. We both order pies and fair size see pictures. All in all great dining experience!
Great atmosphere, great staff, and GREAT food. It’s hard to find a place that can cook chicken to perfection and this one does it in spades. I had a chicken burger and salad. Bun was moist and so was the chicken. It had great flavour and perfect texture. Will definitely be back. Will need to ask for more ranch dressing they give a little cut not enough for the salad. But that would be the only downside.

If you've seen diners in the movies and want to know what it's like, go to the Starlite diner. Also take your camera because if you don't, you'll kick yourself. The staff were friendly and informative as she told us the history of the diner and that there is another one hidden in the industrial park of Red deer. Go, and enjoy the food and the nostalgia that you'll be surrounded in.
Highly recommend the dry ribs!! Yummy!! Service was so very great, and quick! Our only problem was that we were cold, but I'm not sure we can blame that on the restaurant. This is a cute place on the side of the highway between Red Deer and Calgary, and I'm so glad we made the drive up for a meal. We really enjoyed the food!
The food and service at this restaurant are excellent. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was delicious. However, I feel that the prices are a bit high considering the overall experience. It seems a bit overpriced for what you get.
We've driven by here many times over the years. This trip, I told my husband I wanted to finally stop in and eat there. Great food and service! It has a funky alien theme which I loved! We will definitely be back!

Amazing little dinner on the side of the highway. Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff bringing lots of laughs and solid conversations. Service and food is super quick. Highly recommend this Dinner to grab a bite
