we visited this location during the city for a basketball tournament. Basketball tournament came over type of late and we went right before closing the front doors and only drove through the service. even if we went too late, the staff was amazing and made sure that we had everything we had ordered and that was well prepared. our local steak 'n shake closed so we try to meet one when we are out of town and this is not disappointed. when you're in town, I'm looking for a short bite to eat. definitely recommend to stop.
I'm sad. eating was tasty as usual. the order was filled quite quickly. but the experience has died. kiosks have replaced people. it's like all the other almost food spots, go all plastic. the exception is, for shaking and malt, the big glass is still there. I had to help two wonderful older ladies who were willing to go after I was lost in the order screens. I know that the dings change, and our culture has changed. I marked service and atmosphere low because, compared to what steak 'n shake is known, there was no.
Food was great. But, they had no coffee even though I was able to order it through the kiosk.They said they don't have brewed coffee at this location. I suggested they put a sign indicating that so people have the option not to do a meal deal if their not soda drinkers.They couldn't refund me anything for the cup of free water I ended up getting instead. So, I got another cup and grabbed a sweet tea to go for my husband to take home for later.Also bathroom was totally nasty! I'm talking disgustingly nasty.
we did not sit at midday (nun) and the doors were closed, even while others pour inside, which was confusing. unlike this special franchise location will have the ability to facilitate any serious business, not waste the time to go to this location, as we were able to go to the first capital (saint charles) location only and find sitting immediately. Today was my last visit to ANY Steak N Shake. I refuse to use a kiosk and the employees completely ignored me as well as this large group of seniors who struggled to place their order. I ended up giving up and I do believe they were right behind me.What a shame too because it wasn't easy for them to get in and out of their vehicle.
I am not here in a few years, but because of the note of traffic we have decided to try again. what a surprise. great job! the restaurant was so clean, quiet, the staff was polite, the eating was right, hot and tasty! I really didn't think this place would make it, but they did 180. excellent experience. we're coming back!
Love this place. Been here several times and spoke with one of the owners last time. It’s a locally owned franchise and I’m happy to support it. Food was good and the experience was great. I grew up going to this and and it’s Much better than it was in the distant past

We were so excited to see the dining room open again! There have been a lot of changes. You no longer have waitresses. You self serve your own drinks food. But it's not a big deal to us. The food was excellent we will definitely be back soon!
