Run out of the most appealing items on the menu by 7.10pm using the weather as an excuse when as non locals we had traversed the island for two days in the rain. Lazy and inept management, poor communication and utterly disappointing. Fly to Inverness, drive to the Isle of Skye and then one hour round trip on the island to get to the venue and you don’t have food? We had a reservation! Anyone with a microcosm of hospitality training and intelligence would have called us (phone number clearly in the booking) and said if they were running out of food. The menu was let down by the lack of availability of what must have been all the favourites The soup starter had been heated up in a volcano but had somehow maintained an amazing taste. The goats cheese Bon Bon was an absolute taste sensation and although there was only on Bon Bon it was presented beautifully. After some disappointment with the selection and availability for the main courses, venison mince and potatoes and langoustine and chips was presented. Both mains were excellent. Sticky toffee pudding is a must to finish off the meal. The new management are working hard to get everything right and will have the Inn running brilliantly very soon.
Arrived with a warm welcome but told we would be in the snug as the restaurant was busy, not what we expected. Whilst slightly cosy it was dark, cold and non atmospheric albeit we spoke to some lovely people in their having a drink The menu was limited but we enjoyed our meal. The staff were exceptional and service was excellent and friendly But given the above thatâs why we marked some areas lower. Given it was a dreach Hogmanay we would have felt the snug to be better with the fire lite.
on skye in winter is quite everything closed, but the stone inn still served so that we have booked to celebrate our Christmas stay. welcome. great service. great, well cooked food and great drinks. overall we really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it.

great christmas eve isst. beautiful atmosphere and a special dish prepared for our vegetarian needs. I always visit when I stay in the opposite, his great place. thank you, people for resting and a great night. the cherry and walnut soup was delish!
excellent eating and drinking, very friendly staff and beautiful, cozy atmosphere. will be back on our next trip to skye.
