Not a comfortable experience to be honest if you come from England with the bare minimum of things for the beach! The best time to visit the beach is in the evening, just as the sun sets and the moon rises. It's so true about the quality of the light in this part of the world. It is like nothing else we've ever experienced and is very unique. Pictures do not do it justice. We had some lovely days and evenings here, with our little picnics. The sea was surprisingly warm and clean. I had to crawl out of the sea on my hands and knees because it was so painful to walk on the rocks. There's a roped off swimming area just in front of the First Aid hut where children can swim in safety. There is a si...

Stone beach is a delightful spot if you can't stand sand on your sunburn, kids careering across your towel or having to drag your portmanteau through hordes of sunworshippers. Don't want to overplay the elderly curmudgeon bit, but having driven 250km in the heat yesterday all I wanted was a parking spot waiting for me, a parasol with transat/sunbed, a cool swim, a strong coffee and a recuperating sleep. Got it all with "Kat" and her colleagues at Stone Beach. Stayed until nearly sundown. Best 10 euro I ever spent. By the way, the beach is literally along the edge of the Hippodrome, useful for signposting and parking places.
At least its hones with its name. This beach is made of pure stones and rocks.Make sure you take some shoes of flip flops as it would be a killer to attempt to walk bare foot. Its really busy in August as the summer season has truly set in.Its ok for I would say a maximum of an hour. Its just so crowded and uncomfortable to sunbathe. If you have the time use it to get the bus/train to Juans Les Pins where the beach is sand and much better, especially if you have children.I saw a few distressed children who had tripped and scuffed knees on the stones. Not the best.
At last - a restaurant with a high chair! Very family friendly and great staff.Stunning views over the bay every direction you lookWe had two tasty pizzas and a hamburger with beer and wine for just under 40 EUR. Which is a bargain compared to others nearby. Wish we'd found it earlier, as the sun lounger hire is only 10 EUR for the day and the drinks are cheaper than others too.Oh, and the background music was very good too! Book a table now
When we went to the beach the first time, we only brought some towels. After trying to lay down it really hurts ( don't know how the locals do this with no towel ) we bought an little mattress from a shop nearby for 14 euros. The mattress is much better on the stones and easy to carry with you.
The beach is very pretty. Nice for a swim and less crowded than Nice. Restaurants and cabanas are available. If you're in Nice you can come by city bus or train. Lots of parking available. Great fireworks display for special events!
Not a bad place for a quick bite to eat with a sea view. Friendly staff and nice environment. The food was just ok. The mussels were very good, but the French fries were horrible. Probably a bit pricy for what it is
We didn't go on the stone beach, but we ate at the self-service cafe. It was very nice and clean, with a good range of snacks and drinks. It had a nice, chilled atmosphere. Book a table now
It's a good place to have a hamburger, or a good ice cream, the food in general is good and tasty, the place is cozy and they also have a private beach.
