Delicious and well-presented food, great service and lovely surroundings. Only complaint is on arrival and as soon as we sat down, we were asked if we wanted sparkling water to which we replied yes, as we had walked some distance on a warm day to get there. We had not seen a drinks menu or offered one at that point. It was not until we paid the bill that we realised it was $45 for 750ml. No one explained that a cost was involved for the water. We actually thought it was complimentary. We are happy to pay for sparkling water but that is too expensive. Must have been a very special sparkling water from somewhere special to be that expensive!
Our recent visit to Strangers was disappointing compared to our previous experiences. The food and service have declined significantly. Some of us in our group of seven ordered the steak, which was tough and overcooked. The side dishes were subpar and overpriced, and the chocolate mousse dessert was dense and overly rich. We also ordered two bottles of wine, but our glasses were left empty without any refills, despite there still being a third of a bottle left untouched.
We visited this restaurant for the second time in a year and were once again impressed. The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. As visitors from overseas, we were surprised to find that when we mentioned this restaurant to our Australian family and friends, they had never heard of it. We are confident that they will be giving this restaurant a try soon.
A great place to eat with a helpful and enthusiastic staff. Walk or taxi best way to get there. Menu enticing though some of the menu items need more clarification. Tea and coffee missed. Asked if special reason for attending, for what purpose?
