Went there for our meal tonight the quality of the food you cannot fault, however the portion sizes are minimal. I’m not a big eater by any means but had I not asked for more chips I would have gone home hungry. Haven’t been here for many years and by all accounts it will be a long time before I re visit. However the current owner has the premises up for sale due to retirement whether it remains as a hotel once sold who knows. I feel it is over priced for what you get about 6.75 for a starter 14.95 for haddock you goujon’s and 6.75 for a sweet. The chips came in a small dish for my wife and I which I could have eaten myself !!! It may look a lot but believe me it’s not.
We visited this place with friends for morning coffee and were very impressed by the service, It was quietly efficient and very friendly. The fare was very good too with home made sandwiches, cakes and shortbread. If I was being really critical, the coffee was a tad cool but no one seemed to notice. In any case, we will definitely use this place again not only for coffee or tea but for meals as well.
Cosy clean surroundings although probably a bit outdated. Staff were very attentive well mannered. Food however was nothing special considering the prices. We thought it was way overpriced for the selection offered. £19.75 way too much for just a normal plate of roast turkey. Based on this we will certainly not be returning anytime soon.
Check in was smooth. The room was small, dark, and in dire need of an major update. Same applies to the bathroom. There were no tea making facilities and also no bottled water. The only redeeming thing was the restaurant which served excellent food chosen from an extensive menu. Also staff were efficient and friendly.

Visited here tonight with friends. The waiter was a young lad who was very attentive and helpful hence the 4 stars. Food wasn’t that great I had the vegetable pasta. Maybe chose the wrong dish but the rest of my table agreed their food was ok but not great. Ice cream was lovely though!
We went to the Strathburn for a 3 course lunch and thought it was excellent. The food was home cooked, fresh and tasty. The menu was varied and reasonably priced for the quality of food. The staff were also very friendly and the restaurant itself was well furnished and stylish.
Had a family reunion at Strathburn last night we can’t fault a thing. The food was fabulous the staff did a fantastic job. Strathburn had a really calming friendly atmosphere would highly recommend Strathburn. Hopefully we will be back next year for another family reunion.
We took mother to the Strathburn hotel for mothers day boy oh boy were we in for a treat the decor is excellent the food amazing with a wide range of menu to choose from the staff were very helpful and friendly the atmosphere was great perfect for families

Midweek lunch with two 91 year olds to celebrate their 65th anniversary. Excellent meal in a lovely cosey atmosphere,staff were great.
