It was the first time I went for Dinner at Stricker's. I didn't know what to expect so I was surprised to find a nice and cosy place filled with chatter and laughter from the guests. I've booked in advance which was good, because the...restaurant was fully booked. The waiter brought us to the table which was set in a nice way. Funny detail from my booking for this evening my name was set on an old wooden Scrabble board with wooden letters. We've ordered our menue and I was told, that unfortunately my starter was sold out. It didn't matter to me because I had a very good main course sliced beef with fresh winter vegetables and mashed potatoes fine dish! The same happened with the dessert sold...
I came to cheat while I had made a job in a nearby workshop or there is no possibility that I would have happened over it. but wow, what a beautiful place and good eating. first, it is an attractive and welcoming ambiente in the interior. it was about the Saturday afternoon I was there, but all several external tables were occupied (without external heating) which was the first note on a good place. one of the specials has been described as English sweetcake. to be English, that didn't jump on me, but I ordered it and it was absolutely delicious. a traditional british pie has crimped the baked into a thicker crust around the edges, but this cake was a light circular lid of baked on the veget...
I went there with friends to discover that the menu had changed. it is in the really exciting, but this time after it tried different things, it was super disappointing...not delicious and somehow polarizing! the service in this night was really not good and after waiting minutes to order a coffee we simply leave when no one really cared for us! although I like the setting, the combination between not so big food and bad service did not make the total experience a good one to remember.
we've got another try with friends here. we had a really nice dip with our apéro. the dives were tasty, made to home and with a twist. delicious. eating after was also good, but I still think that the new menu is not...her best: they could get more fish options in. the staff and the service were excellent! total great night out.
