Went to Sugarfish in DTLA right at the open and there was a line. The host and wait staff were very fast and got everyone situated quickly. They sat us at a table away from the bar.We went the middle tier omakase option. I think it was called The Sugarfish , something super simple for about 60 dollars or so for a total of 10 courses. Before eating they provided hand wipes to disinfect your hands. I wasn 't able to capture all the courses they served only a few. But every piece of sushi they served was incredibly fresh. I love sugar fish. I make it a point to go to SUGARFISH if I’m close to one and craving sushi in the downtown is one of my most reliable options. To go food is ready in 10 to 20 minutes which is great. As for the sushi it can’t be beat it’s fresh, I always go for the nozawa and if you are eating there in person, make sure to ask them for the offer menu specials. This is one of the smaller locations so ambience is tight knit but service is always fast and quick.

First: the fish is really top quality and not so expensive. The dirinks, however, are quite expensive. I have 2 big complaints: they force a fixed 16% tip, and the sushi rice was wet and fell apart (not a traditional rice). I asked for one leaf of shiso as my wife has never had it, and the server said it wasn't possible (they have it and it costs very little).

There wasn’t a wait when I went but midday around 12 gets pretty crowded so be sure to bear the rush. Restaurant is quaint and small but fun and nice decorations. Overall a great vibe and the food was good. I’d definitely come back in the future. It’s on the pricier end but pretty goodFood: 4/5
