Visited for my daughters 15th birthday (her choice) We have been to the Sultans Tent a couple of years ago, and it was excellent on that occasion, but oh dear, I don’t know what happened this time! We were a table of 6 (4 adults and 2 teens), so a good earner for the restaurant. The lady serving was very pleasant, but seemed to be the only person on that night. She did the drinks and was waitressing. Although the place was very quiet, the service was glacial. Starters were good and hot, but looked liked they had just been dumped on the plate. My sister and I went here snack dab in the middle of COVID. What a fantastic experience and the food was delicious. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable and helped us understand the menu and suggestions on what to get. People please support local business this place had all precautions in place and the server and chef wore masks! We were the only in the restaurant, although I loved the one on one service it was very hard to imagine what the owner is going through. This place is a staple in calgary and I hope to see this place for many years to come. I will definitely be visiting here again. â
Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Specialized in Moroccan couscous and tajines. I expected the food to be spicy but turned up ok. We tried the Sultan's Feasts and it was incredible we especially liked the fish tajine and the Mergez Couscous. The restaurant is set up like a tent and has private booths for more privacy. All the food is halal, a great venue for Iftar in Ramadan.
The food was just as delicious as always, but the overall experience was not quite the same as usual. The interactive aspects like hand washing at the table, guidance on how to eat dishes with your hands, and the refreshing mint tea were missing, which had made dining here a unique and enjoyable experience in the past. We will give it another try when things return to "normal" times.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinning experience. Comfortable and cozy and very authentic atmosphere and cuisine. Hostess was was extremely professional, friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable regarding menu choices. She was a delight and warm and caring. Thank you so much Sultan Tent and to the staff, and expecially to our lovely hostess and waitress !!!
Food was as good as always but the experience just wasnât the same as usual. Hand washing at the table, education around how to eat the dishes (w/ bare hands) and mint tea were excluded which made eating here special in the past. We will try it again in ânormalâ times
This place is unique and has really cool Moroccan Decor with little separated areas for groups. The food here however is pricey for what you get, I wasn't a big fan of the food, found the portions very small to share and not enough seasoning on the food.
If you want to try something special then this is a great choice. The food is wonderful and the surroundings are special and make one feel like being in a tent setting in Morocco. Always an excellence on customer service.

Excellent food and service as usual. The Tagines are very good, good servings of chicken, and lamb with preserved lemon delicious. Nice mint tea too. Support this restaurant during COVID !!
