It's been ages since I've been to Sun's BBQ because there are so many other great Asian restaurants closer to my neighborhood. And, just like this place, two of our favorite spots are owned by Taste of Asia Group: T.Pot China Bistro and Cafe 100% YYC. They also own: Calgary Court, Misai Japa Cafe, Forbidden City, Pebble Street and H.K. Cafe. It's amazing that one company can operate so many popular restaurants that are all unique and not a chain. If you like Sun's BBQ, you might want to give the other places a try as well.
This restaurant is quite popular and always bustling with customers. I decided to try their BBQ specials which included Salted Egg, Duck, BBQ Pork, Chicken, Roast Pork and BBQ Pork served on a bed of rice. The portion sizes were generous, but I was disappointed to find that the duck and chicken portions contained mostly bone with little meat. I noticed that the customers at the next table had juicier portions with a better meat to bone ratio. The combo price seemed a bit high for what was included.
On my first visit to Calgary, I had the pleasure of trying out some Chinese BBQ at Sun's BBQ. I opted for the roast duck and roast pork with rice, which was a generous portion and the pork had a delicious crispy texture. The baked pork chop on tomato rice really took me back to my childhood. The HK milk tea was authentically tasty. The service was efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Sun's for their delicious BBQ and Hong Kong style dishes.
If the waitress or the person behind the counter knows you, you will get lots nice bbq meat and in large portion. The guy who sat next to me got exactly like that. His plate all covered with best choice of bbq meat and in large quantity. When my plate was brought on to me, my portion was small and bbq meat was dry. So I complained to the waitress. She just walked away. I took that as an insult!

Stopped here to pick up half BQ Duck and a pound of BQ Pork . The meat was very fresh and very tasty. Tastes so great when you buy fresh and make rice at home to eat with it . Any leftovers , it makes awesome fried rice ! We will have to come try dining in at this restaurant soon .
Best Chinese BBQ spot in town- value for money, good amount of meat and good flavors. Service and atmosphere isn't the best but this isn't a place you come for the atmosphere anyway.For $18 for 2 meat combo with soup you can't go wrong.
Restaurant is very chaotic and difficult to get a table unless you speak Chinese. However, their BBQ is amazing. Love their Char-siu pork and duck. Probably the most authentic place in Calgary to get your dose of Chinese BBQ meats.
This is our fourth time dining here, and we still love it! The food is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner. My favorite is the BBQ roasted pork belly and number 128.

Delicious delicious food! Probably the best place in Calgary for any bbq meat dishes. Highly recommend the sweet and sour short ribs, and the black pepper squid! The sizzling beef plate was also incredible!
