A lovely venue in a converted old barn, a really nice cosy bar area to sit and have a drink. The upstairs restaurant is very nice but a little too dark for my eyesight. Good menu with different offerings to the usual. Generally the food is good. The Pashwari Naan is the best we have ever had. The Prawn dishes are very good. However for me personally I always find the chicken not as tender as I would like and the Dhansak is too mild, it should have more spice. our first visit to sundar rachana will certainly not our last! what a small jewel of an Indian restaurant, with immaculate and personal service, and people who really like their customers. my other half put them a challenge to create a...main dish, with some guidelines of its taste, and they came trump, he was thrilled, but above all they wanted the feedback . . .so important in these times of a customer driven industry. beautiful atmosphere, extensive menu and good value for money . . we come back!
Excellent restaurant really pleased we went for a selection of dishes. The machley fry starter, grilled sea bass and lamb shank were all fab. Lively restaurant, so imagine you need to book well in advance. The staff are very attentive and make this a great place to dine. Would be a perfect venue for an office Xmas party. Great night out with friends for a curry. Food was tasty and the staff were friendly. Only downside was the service was slow, we were left with menus for a good 20 minutes before they asked for our order. Couple of our party complained as they had asked for spicy but dish turned out to be rather mild. Lots of parking around the back.
