Fresh and delicious sushi downtown. I have eaten here several times but have never opted for the all you can eat option as the regular portions are filling on their own. I often grab lunch or takeout, which is quick and inexpensive. The salmon delight is delicious and offers a variety of fresh salmon including a large portion of delicious salmon sashimi (a personal favourite here). With a convenient location, fresh ingredients and consistent quality Sushi Island has become my favourite sushi restaurant in St. John's. Give it a try!
The Waitress's could be more attentive.. to serving drinks and customers? .. the food was good but the choice of Desserts was very limited. .3 of the best most expensive Ice Creams, Unfortunately listed on the menu, but they were out of.. lots of different choice of Sushi.. the soups were a little luke warm & could be heated more.. very limited Bar Manu, more NFLD Beer should be served.. & Oriental Beers, no beer on tap? .. there was 5 of us for dinner.. my dinner with one Sapporo Beer was $41 with tip.. $50..
This is my go to place for all you can eat sushi. I like their loose leaf tea they serve and the Yummy Yummy rolls are my favorite. Kind of sad you can't get the Yummy Yummy rolls on their lunch menu. I like that their spicy broccoli rolls are served warm. Service is quick and staff are friendly. Dinner pricing is a bit pricy but if you can eat alot off sushi at one time, it's well worth it.
I would love to give this place a higher rating, but the cost is way too high for the level of service and food. Although the sushi was fresh and tasty, the service was not greatest considering we were there during a slow time. While the lunch time meal is affordable, the exact same meal for supper, this is all you can eat, is almost double the cost of the of the lunch meal.

I am very hard to please when it comes to sushi but the lunch buffet was amazing. Its not your typical buffet though, everything was made fresh to order and the service was great as well. This will be a regular for us when we make the move into St. John's permanently.<br/ <br/ My only complaint is that there are no credit cards accepted. Visa and Debit only so be forewarned.
The place is very unassuming, but don't be fooled.. the food is excellent. The sushi is wonderfully prepared and extremely fresh. The ramen is also quite comforting with a respectable broth. They even have robots that come around to drop off your food. It was a good time had by all.
Really nice place. The food was delicious! They no longer have all you can eat, but the size of their lunch bento box will leave you full! They have a cute robot that will bring your drinks and food to the table too.
I loved the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant could have more decorative items to give it a more oriental and authentic look. Joy and the other server are both friendly and helpful. Thanks

I love going to their all you can eat lunch and dinners!! The service is prompt and friendly as well, which I think is important too. A good variety of menu choices as well.
Sushi Island has a good range of sushis to choose from and their stuff taste fairly good too. Reasonably priced and arranges their orders pretty fast.
