Came here for a light weekday lunch which quickly filled up. We had miso soup, deep fried calamari, a few plates of gyoza and red rice tuna rolls. As I'm pregnant, we ordered for the gyoza to be made fresh however they were lukewarm when they came out which was disappointing. However what most disturbed us was seeing who we thought may have been the manager (who wore a blue shirt, different to the rest of the staff) put into his mouth two pieces of rice balls straight from the rice cooker with both his gloves still on in the kitchen. He then continued to make up food plates with the same gloves. This is obviously a food safety breach and the reason why we won't be coming here again.

We ate here on a busy Friday night. As the restaurant is quite small, we needed to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but it was certainly worth the wait. My son and I are fussy sushi eaters, we don't eat fish at all, and sometimes it is hard to find plates that suit us, however at Sushi Maru there was so much for us to choose from, we simply couldn't try it all. We are going back again next week to enjoy new and favourite plates. Can't wait!

Had a business lunch here. Had to queue a bit but that is not an issue. Selection of sushi was limited (there were 8 plates in a row of the same thing). With that in mind the choice us limiting. Service was mediocre. It feels like they have settled in a routine and do not make you feel welcome or special.Ambience is ok although the shop is crowded, with very little room to swing a cat.

I was disappointed with the quality of the food in general. The sushi was made by Korean people and was no way as nice as Japanese Sushi. The owners also own the sushi takeaway opposite this restaurant. They look so serious and not really friendly. Sitting in front of many hardworking staff with no smiles on their face is not my preferred way of dining experience. Book a table now

Seemed to be a popular spot amongst locals so gave it a try. Everything was ok but a bit expensive (I guess it's Gordon afterall). Scallops and grilled eel were the highlights, everything else was just above average.

I struggle to understand how busy this sushi shop is at times. I've been twice - I'm not exactly sure how I ended up here a second time. Maybe I thought it might get better. It didn't. Average sushi made

This Sushi train restaurant is always busy. Food is good, with plenty of variety. Multiple visit discount cards available. Limited on-street parking, but shopping centre parking available.

We took our family there and all enjoyed the atmosphere, the variety of food and the experience - not the cheapest particularly with kids who can eat a lot.. . Book a table now

What a great findOne of the widest ranges of sushi I've come across - from sashimi and nigiri to dumplings and hand rolls.
