Even if we arrived for food 3 minutes before the cut-off time, we were still welcomed as if they had just opened. Food was very good, service was impeccable, and we were treated very friendly by our server. Remember, we were the last to go because we lost the way with the conversation, but also then we were never reminded that they were close. My daughter who lives in NYC and loves Sushi thought her role was amazing. We will definitely come back and as soon as she comes back to Charlotte, she has already mentioned that she would like to come back Great job Sushi Queen!
Update! Just went back after a disappointing visit to Mr. Tokyo. Everything was much better than Mr. Tokyo so please start visiting here....my previous review stands but I've taken a picture of the dang signs! Take them down, especially post-Covid they are like huge stop signs. Everything was good. Especially pleased with the crab and avacado salad appetizer, very fresh. Good servers, very clean. Should be busier for the quality. Loved the mural and local art. Take the paper signs off the doors! Gives the wrong impression. It's much more upscale then that.
Short employees made the wait longer than expected, but they were clear about it. Food was great and worth waiting. My only real complaint was that we arrived earlier than 7:00 to use the semi-open daily special, but because of the lack of staff for timely service we were unable to order our food in time for the special. This deal should have been honored for us. Will definitely go back when I'm back in the area.
Our server Lena was absolutely wonderful. The food was too. We had never thought about the sushi version of fried green tomatoes, but dang? yes. and the sushi let us drown unapologetic in the public. Yes yes and yes fantastic place and time. Oh and the restaurant itself, so nice and cozy. From recent years, this was a pretty nice date night experience!
