This is a quick review of the new sushi restaurant opened by the Tsujita group on Sawtelle last month, just a short distance from their ramen shops. We visited a week after their opening, and I was pleasantly surprised by the meal. I must disclose that we dined for free, not as media, but as friends of Kenta-san, the Tsujita corporate chef. This is Tsujita's first venture into sushi that I am aware of, and I was unsure of their skill in this area. While they may not yet match the quality of Shunji and Kiriko in the neighborhood (or the city), they are on par with Q. The Tsujita team is invested in the restaurant, evident in the decor and high-quality ingredients they utilize.
I had an incredible experience! I visited this restaurant for my birthday dinner, and the Tokyo omakase was absolutely fantastic—truly one of the best meals I've ever had. Although this isn't my top choice for omakase, the prices are unbeatable! They offer three different experience options, with the pricier one featuring wagyu.
