I rarely endeavour to leave reviews but thought I’d leave a quick thought after visit on Friday past (7th). With the forest park and giants lair attraction on site, myself and friends seen it as set in a nice location however cafe itself left a lot to be desired. Outside seemed unkept with little decor and inside seemed out dated and in need of a massive makeover. Tables seemed mix matched and was quite dark and menu seemed in need of revising for better range of options. Even at the till looking down the back of the shop, it seemed cluttered with what looked like prep benches in centre of kitchen next to where dirty dishes were brought in and washed and other unused spaces wasted with what...

This place could be a little gold mine and the location of the cafe is in a park predominantly geared for children so I am very surprised at the lack of choice on the children’s menu. Basically, there was 3 choices. sausage chips, savoury or sweet wrap or soup. There was no chicken left and the soup was an adult combination. There was no jacket spuds and this was 1pm, I was advised all they had to offer was in the counter window which was ciabatta combinations sourdough bread…so I ordered a cheese sandwich and a ham sandwich for the children. Can’t go wrong with that surely? ….yes afraid so…we got toasties with cheese melted running out if it and a bacon on the top, the other was a ham toast...

Went to this cafe last Saturday just after 12pm after walking the fairy trail. Second time here and will be the last. Four disinterested teenage staff on a go slow despite the large queue. Filthy tables, we had to ask twice for our table to be wiped, and I guarantee you the floor hasn’t had been properly washed in years. Four water glasses were delivered to us and deposited on the dirty table, three of the glasses were covered in lumps of dirt and watermarks, we drank from the bottles instead. The food was fine but nothing to write home about, the ordered chipotle chicken sandwiches were minus chipotle. This cafe is in a beautiful location and could be really great with some effort. It urgen...

Came here with my son and nearly 4 year old grandson after our fun walk seeing the Giants lair. I got a latte and a malteaser tray bake for myself, an Americano and snickers tray bake for my son and a smoothie along with with a brownie for my grandson. It all came to just under £18. We enjoyed it but felt there could be more child friendly cakes for children as the selection didn't include anything he particularly liked the look of. The brownie was very nice but too rich for a young child's taste. I'd definitely visit again and would possibly try the cooked food selection to see if this was more suited. It was an enjoyable rest break in very pleasant surroundings. We noted that the tables we... Book a table now

We had lunch here today. The roasted veg wrap was inedible! It is hard to find the words it tasted like it had been reheated multiple times, some of the veg were mush and others were chewy. The wrap itself seemed stale. The table beside us got the same and also couldn't eat it. The toilet in the actual cafe is also disgusting. The facilities in the Forest park are 100% but they are a walk from the cafe when you have hot food and drinks sitting (especially for young children). My husband has the chicken and bacon sandwich it was OK, but again seemed dry and as if it had been heated multiple times.

Absolutely awful I never write reviews but I certainly went out of my way to write this review. Firstly the place is filthy dirty, the young staff hadn’t not a notion how to deal with the public and we’re under serious pressure, lastly I had to change my 7month old baby in a hallway as the toilets were so dirty and stinking!!! The hall way was so dirty and covered in dead flys and wasps!!!!!

Was here during the week. Really nice breakfast and good service. Was even better for to the government discount Would recommend the veggie breakfast, very nice. After this went for our walk and came back for a quick lunch outside. That was our plan, service this time was really poor having to wait ages for our food along with several mix-ups.

Really poor lunch. The salads are so dry and unappetising. I don’t know how you can go wrong with a ham cheese toastie but it was inedible. The cheese was Emmental which I thought was a bit random and acquired test. The cafe itself is also quite dilapidated and run down. Book a table now

Overpriced terrible food. The £8 big cheese Toastie clearly heated by torch with a spoon full of cheese. No sign of actual toasting. Had to send back to get grilled. A disgraceful overpriced place.
