There seems to be some confusion regarding the vegan options. When we ordered, we inquired about the vegan cheese listed on the menu. One of the owners didn’t know what we were referring to and asked her partner, who also seemed unaware and mentioned that the "vegan option" was just tofu. When we pointed out the vegan cheese on the menu, she still didn’t grasp what we meant and seemed perplexed. A friend later informed me that the vegan cheese likely comes from the owners’ children, suggesting that the parents might not fully understand the vegan offerings. I've been visiting this restaurant for three years, but I don't think I'll be returning. They promote their products as vegan, and after I complained about them regularly adding animal products to the dishes I ordered as vegan, they assured me it wouldn't happen again and deleted my comments. I foolishly took their word for it and ordered vegan tlacoyos and vegan tacos. Unfortunately, the tlacoyos came with cheese, and the tacos came with guacamole that contains milk. I'm really disappointed; their staff still hasn't clarified what 'vegan' means. They even banned me from their Facebook page after I commented about my experience. My friend and I walked in to see what they had one day and were very pleasantly surprised by the options available. While the have omnivore options as well they do have a few vegetarian/vegan options too. Vegan options are available on request of no sour cream, cheese, etc. The doritos tosdadas with potato filling are fantastic and I suggest trying the aguas frescas (It is a sweet drink of water and pineapple, with some pulp). They had a couple of other options as well, including beans and rice and one other which i cannot currently remember. It is certainly a worth it place to go whether you are veg or not.
The tacos were fantastic, and the guacamole and salsa had a delightful level of spice. The atmosphere felt genuinely authentic. I hope they can expand their menu in the future to include items like chili relleno and chimichangas, as well as adding some alcoholic beverages. Book a table now
Oh my goodness, this is the best Mexican food I've ever had in Lethbridge! The flavors are truly authentic, and it's very reasonably priced! I can't wait to return and try the Tacos Dorados (they were sold out during my visit), because everything else I had was amazing!
Incredible! The food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place. It may be small, but it's beautifully decorated and features a lovely little patio area with umbrella shade. This has become my new favorite spot in Lethbridge!
I tried the tofu tacos recently, but they were gummy and very greasy. After I enjoyed delicious Mexican cuisine in other cities, I expect it better. I'll give them another try, but maybe adjust my assessment.
