This Japanese restaurant was a blast! The atmosphere at the hibachi tables was lively tonight, with everyone howling, laughing, and celebrating something special. We enjoyed our meal in a private tatami room, where you sit on pillows and can open and close the rice paper sliding doors as you please. This setup is especially great for a romantic date if you want some privacy! The hibachi meals were fantastic, including soup and salad, priced quite reasonably at $22 to $32. I tried Tai Show North after searching for sushi lunch specials near Port Jeff. When I arrived the restaurant was empty but someone came out from the back to give me my order. I got the 2 Roll Lunch Special was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I got a tuna avocado roll, alaska roll miso soup. The soup portion was larger than other local sushi restaurants give for lunch special, the rolls were a decent size, and the fish was fresh delicious. It's a great deal great quality!
My family and friends love Tai Show North! We are so sad they are closing : My family orders from here at least twice a month and we always have had a great time eating in one of those cute screened booths.
