I was disappointed with the service. Came in for lunch and while I was seated immediately and asked what I would like to drink, the service ended there. It looked like there was a lunch buffet but I was not told this nor the price. I also was not given a menu nor even told if ordering off the menu was possible during lunch. In short after being seated I was completely ignored and left to figure things out myself despite having 2 or 3 attendants standing around close by. This figuring things out for ones self was also present when coming in the west entrance. One finds one's self in a hallway after entering and then needing to descend stairs into what appeared to have been an empty lower dini...
We ordered tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and mango lassi to drink. The tandoori chicken was so dry I had to dip it in the sauce of chicken tikka masala for me to chew on it. The garlic naan was paper thin with barely enough dough. The service was horrendous. We waited 25 minutes for someone to come and take our order. And we had to wave at the waiter to get their attention. I observed two other tables that were seated after us being served before us. Even though we ordered lassi along with our main dishes, we didn't get the lassi until we were almost done with our dinner. We again had to waive at the waiter and remind him of our lassi order. I'll be honest, I have never tried Indian food in my 34 years of life until yesterday at this place. The food was different I'll just say that. My taste buds were going wild with all the different spices I was not used to. Pretty interesting! I wasn't evensure what I was eating haha. But this buffet was nice and the relaxing atmosphere was cool too. The staff was attentive and madesure we were ok as we ate. I give it 4 stars because I thought it was a little pricey for two people but overall if Indian foodis your thing I'll recommend you come here to eat.
We absolutely loved the selections they have in their lunch buffet. Everything was well seasoned. Vegetarian options available. They bring out fresh batches often and the staff are very helpful. They offer tons of seating for any size party. Price is notbad at around $18 or so with tax for the lunch buffet. Taj Mahal will be one of our frequent stops in Albuquerque.

The food is above average. The service is outstanding. The atmosphere is less than average. It’s a bit crowded and open. The buffet is $18 a person for lunch. Not bad for the variety they give you, but a little bit on the expensive side.the service is outstanding and the staff is very friendly.
It doesn't matter if you dine in or carry out. Taj is delectable every single time. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for people with allergies GF or vegan Kid-friendliness: They have a lot of mild dishes for kiddos.

Great place, awesome food, service is as accommodating as they can considering how constantly slammed they are. Love the family style entrees, will definitely visit again.

Great experience at Taj Mahal. I had the Chicken Kurma it was good, but I really enjoyed the Kheer and the Gajar Halwa. Both were excellent. Well done Taj Mahal!
I ordered my food and picked it up, the pita bread was warm and homemade. Very delicious for a late night snack.
