Ok, I'm gonna be a bit harsh on this one... the place is actually not bad. We even gave it a second chance after trying the pizza (which was above average on the Wuppertal-scene), to see if it could become our favourite italian 'im Tal'.The restaurant is well advertised in the local press and always packed as a result, which I don't think is justified. Location might also help.The 'Do it yourself' pizza might sound like a nice idea, but certainly more of an american one than an italian one. If some non-italian feels like having pinapple or chicken on his pizza I can get over it, really, I can... but it shouldn't be encouraged. The bruschetta 'Fai da te' is a bit unusual but good. A decision to dine at Taormina was by default. Default that there were no other restaurants open on Easter Sunday evening close by our hotel ....Hotel Arcadia. A terrific decision! A warm and friendly staff, a limited menu, designed to please anyone, with home made Italian food, a fine wine selection and most importantlydelicious Italian food. My party of three returned to Taormina Restaurant on the following Thursday evening and the owner, Fabrizio, greeted us warmly and welcomed us back to his restaurant. Very friendly local Italian restaurant. Has a varied menu of Pasta and Pizza dishes. We had been on a long bus tour in unseasonably warm weather. While we would have preferred dining al fresco, unfortunately the rest of the crowd had the same idea. I had a Pasta dish featuring linguine type noodles in a ragout. My better half opted for a Pizza. both were excellent. Service was a bit slow, but it was NOT due to the wait staff who was constantly hustling. Adding additional staff is not feasible in this small venue. I suggest that you just slow down, perhaps have an appertizer or a glass of wine and enjoy life in Wuppertal
This appears to be quite a busy restaurant. I went here because the Croatia restaurant next door was closed on Monday.The interior and atmosphere is pretty standard, nothing special. The service is something special. Young inexperienced waiters and waitresses that have more time for each other then for the guests.Service was bad as they forgot to pass my order to the kitchen, twice. I spent about 90 minutes waiting in total for 2 dishes .....The food itself was OK. Nothing exceptional.All in all, I may go back there, only if I have enough time. Book a table now
A very nice italian restaurant pure, with nice dishes, and very good service. Home cooked italian food, that requires a time to do, but the result is fantastic, and in an economic format. Waiters pay attention but are not incomodating you and the flavours are nice. Inside is small but distribution is good so there´s a good space to talk or just to enjoy your food without others intromisions. Also the coffee is incredible and that always is nice to find.
After the younger generation took over, the restaurant has changed completely.The furnishing is new and comfortable, the design sleek and modern.The food is delicious and the portions big enough. Every day they change their dessert options. But try the Tiramisu!!! Amazing!!!It's important to book a table, they always have a full house!
