I had a phenomenal experience at Taps and Takeout and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bite to eat, terrific beer on tap, or a warm ambiance. Joe, the owner, welcomed me into his place and was very kind to me throughout my time there. I had the steak sandwich and it was a well done meal at a good price $12 for mine). The menu is extensive and the chef in the back does a great job getting orders out. I met some nice people there as well, mostly locals from the surrounding neighborhoods. It had a nice community feet to it and I'm sure I'll be back very soon. Vegetarian options: They had some vegetarian options including a sandwich and i believe an appetizer, but don't quote me...

I recently revisited this restaurant with my kids last week when I was too exhausted to make dinner plans. It was a pleasant surprise to see many familiar faces from Thornhill Elementary. Another family was dining in, and we invited them to share our table. The atmosphere was nice and casual, and the food exceeded expectations. The beer was cold, and the bartender (possibly the owner) even offered us a complimentary shot of tequila. I would love to visit more often now that the weather is improving. It's a charming neighborhood spot with great vibes that I would like to support. I also noticed that some people were picking up six packs of craft beer, although I'm not sure how that works, it'...
It seems that the usual chef was absent and the person in charge of the kitchen only had two days of experience. The food took a long time to come out and the chicken on my sandwich was not edible. The fries could have been better if they were cooked longer and not served so greasy. It is advisable to inquire about the chef before ordering. Also, the beer options were disappointing given the restaurant's name. Overall, the service was rated 1, the atmosphere was a 3, and the price per person for dinner was $50-100.
Phenomenal, albeit *very small* neighborhood bar with great simple food. Joe is an incredibly friendly and welcoming owner, so if you live in the area, walk on down! There's often local music playing next door. Just a quiet, chill spot. We love it. We visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered takeout. The food was very good. They offer gluten-free bread for sandwiches if requested. We tried the pastrami melt and fish n chips, but please note that the fish n chips is not gluten-free. It's a shame that they are not open for lunch, as they could attract more customers. The visibility of their sign could also be improved. The marketing department needs to make some changes.
What a charming little place. So glad we found it on Google Maps. It's hard to find Matzo ball soup anywhere at all, and this one was delicious. I especially loved the macaroni and cheese. Meat on the ribs fell off the bone, as it should. Service was friendly and attentive. And in the age of the $45 pizza, in contrast the prices are extremely reasonable here. Service: Dine in
The restaurant's name is misleading. We initially thought there would be no seating, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a large table and outdoor seating area. The owner is friendly and welcoming. The decor is cozy and charming. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and one of the best I've had in a while. The matzo ball soup was hearty and packed with flavor.
Perfect spot for a bite before an event at the church across the street. Our server was absolutely delightful. It was fun to be offered free shots of whiskey when we arrived. Food is satisfying and reasonably priced. Lots of families having a great time. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Book a table now
The staff at this restaurant is knowledgeable, relaxed, and attentive. We always enjoy coming here to relax when we are in the area. If this is not already your favorite spot, I highly recommend making it yours. The food and drinks are excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5.
