Today, we got to go to Findlay Market and while we were there we saw the establishment, Taste of Belgium. This place was recommended to me by one of my friends who lives near here as I’m from another state. We wanted to order sandwiches and desserts off their menu, but we were told they no longer serve sandwiches. For us, this was a bit of a let down and I would suggest updating the menu to reflect only those items that are available for purchase. We left to go buy sandwiches from another place, but returned to buy lemon cheesecakes, frosted oatmeal cookie, snickerdoodle cookie, peanut butter cookie and a buckeye. I absolutely adore Taste of Belgium waffles, and even though the location in Columbus has closed, I don’t mind making the trip to Cincinnati every couple of months (depending on how quickly my family devours them) to stock up on those incredible waffles. The food is also delicious, and I’ve tried three of their restaurants. Unfortunately, I've encountered issues with fraudulent charges on any card I use there. As a result, I’ve given up on dining in. Now, I only go to Findlay Market, where they specialize in waffles. You can choose your favorite flavor, the cashier bags them up, and my card stays right in my hand—no waitstaff involved. I’ve never had any problems at Findlay Market.
Jean-Francois Flechet relocated from Belgium to the United States to pursue his doctorate. While working for a market research firm in Cincinnati, he began visiting Findlay Market regularly. About ten years ago, he started experimenting with recipes for Belgian waffles, aiming to recreate the flavors he remembered from his childhood in Belgium, particularly from a vendor at Madison's in the market. His waffles quickly became a hit, and by February 2008, he established his own stand inside Findlay Market. The rest is history. Be sure to try the waffles topped with banana and Nutella – they are our favorite!
I visited the restaurant with a friend, and we both ordered crepes. I opted for the savory version, while my friend chose the traditional one. My crepe was absolutely delicious, generously filled with warm, tasty goat cheese. We also shared a strawberry and cream waffle, which was equally delightful! The service was impressively quick, especially considering the crepes are made from scratch. We enjoyed our meal at the charming little red tables in Findlay Market, which made for a perfect setting!

I highly recommend Taste of Belgium at Findlay Market. We host food tours and bring dozens of guest there on a weekly basis. Jacqueline Umberg and the staff are so professional, hardworking and friendly! The locals on the tour even remark about how delicious the waffles taste right out of the waffle maker. Jacqueline and the staff really go the extra mile to give each customer a first class experience!
You might expect to come here for waffles, but my son had his heart set on pizza. So what did we order? Pizza! I was a bit unsure, but it turned out to be fantastic! The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. Hopefully, I can make it back to try the waffles next time!
The staff here seem overwhelmed with their workload. I'm curious why pizza is part of the menu. Is it really necessary to offer sandwiches as well? They should focus on just serving waffles, crepes, and coffee.
The workers here probably come to work high. I ordered latte and the guy made the milk froth and 10 shots of the syrup, but forgot to put in the espresso. Gross
