Despite the fact that there is plenty to choose from, I must admit I was not all that keen to try the tasting house as whisky, gin (in fact many spirits) and I have never been buddies. Well Julie you have converted me. Apart from the premium products I tried as part of a tasting, I could not believe how adding 1 -2 teaspoon of water to whiskey could change it so dramatically. The gin I tried infused with lemon myrtle literally came to life with taste & aroma with that small addition of tonic water which I normally detest. I am truly glad I went out of my comfort zone at your encouragement. SOLD!!!
We walked into the Tasting House at Richmond and were the only people inside. The lady behind the counter ignored us so we walked around and looked at everything by ourselves. The real log fire was very nice on a cold winter day. We finally decided to make conversation with the lady behind the counter, and only then did she become friendly and chatty. We were disappointed with the small amount of items available for tasting. We expected much more given the name is the "Tasting House". A bit of a waste of time for us. We did spend plenty of our tourist dollars at other establishments in Richmond.
We three Aussie Whisky Travellers found Gino was so friendly, informative and helpful we just had to visit twice once on our way northwards from Hobart and again on our way back. Superb range of whiskies (and other spirits/liqueurs/wines) and Gino can provide the background to every dram in the well stocked shelves. We stumbled upon this gem while visiting Richmond and were pleasantly surprised. The bar staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, happily engaging in conversation and offering excellent recommendations. The selection of gins, whiskeys, and liqueurs was impressive. We appreciated that the tasting options were not limited to just a few preselected spirits, but rather open to almost anything in the shop.

Wasn’t expecting much more than a bottle shop upon walking in to Drink Tasmania however, was incredibly impressed with the experience we had. Tasted a paddle of Gins as recommended by Peter and my husband tasted some beers. We had a great chat and we both really enjoyed spending time with Peter. Walked away with some Gin and Tassie beers and would not hesitate to recommend to anybody. Thanks legend!!!
My partner and I absolutely adored this restaurant. We discovered it while traveling through the town and we were thrilled we decided to stop by! The staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable. We were also impressed by the wide selection of Tasmanian whiskies and gins available. A visit here is definitely a must - you will enjoy the atmosphere, the drinks, and most importantly, the hospitality!
Drink Tasmania Tasting House is the place to go, to see, taste learn about the huge range of quality drinks being produced by Tasmanian distillers. We enjoyed the comfortable environment, the knowledge and friendliness of the 2 guys (owners) behind the bar, and of course the chance to taste 3 gins, selected for me according to my preferences. Highly recommended
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant, with staff members who had a fantastic sense of humor. They were very knowledgeable about the drinks they served and asked questions to help determine my preferences. I would definitely return to this establishment.

We had a great experience in Richmond at your Distillery. Very informative pleasant and knowledgeable service from Jeremy in the morning. Just ordered our first bottle on line. I'm sure it will be a HIT back in VIC!
Great place to do some tastings. We did the whiskey tasting (and a glass of gin) enjoyed the quality whiskeys and the explanation by the owners (no nonsense and clearly lovers of this liquid gold too)
