Tavern On The Hill

Every time I’m in town, this has always been the best place to come to with delicious dining options without having to drive to Northampton for finer dining that isn’t commercialized . Tavern On the Hill was excellent prior to recently changing the menu and now only serving BBQ. When we walked in, the staff was not as attentive or welcoming and it was all young kids who lacked hospitality skills. We were seated in the lower dining area for roughly 10 minutes without being acknowledged and it wasn’t busy. Let me start by saying we have been here many times and enjoyed it! However this time may overshadow all those other time. We had a party of 4 and a child, some of whom had never been. We were seated at 7pm. Didn't receive our beverages for 20 minutes. Ordered our appetizers and meals at the same time. Apps came another 30 mins later. Our Main courses came out 1.5hrs after we were seated and they were warm at best. Our server only showed up when necessary and never apologized or explained the wait. I've seen the restaurant much busier so I'm unsure of the problem but a truly disappointing visit all around.

Great views!!! We ordered The Original which was a great way to try all the meat options incl ribs, brisket and pulled pork...definitely enough to share. Reservations are highly recommended especially for outdoor seating.

Great BBQ, fantastic sauces, amazing burgers and next level drinks! We come here often and the quality is consistent. Took my mom for her birthday and it was a lovely time. Oh yeah right, they also have a view

Service was so slow and terrible it was painful. The dining room was so uncomfortably hot.
