We went here a few years ago while cruising the Marne to Rhine Canal, and decided to give it another go this time. And we weren’t disappointed. On the contrary. Even if the menu doesn’t change a lot, we still had the « chicken pie » and...a baeckoffe and an apple strudel for desert. As gorgeous and tasty as in our memories. But don’t worry, there’s plenty more on the menu. The choucroute is very good too. The meat such as the fish version. Very Alsatian decor. The only thing that did change since our last visit is the outfit of the waitresses. No more buxom cleavage in sort of traditional dress but stick thin waitresses all in black... Anyway... We had a great evening and great food.
we have traveled from the states and tried to come to dinner. the restaurant was practically empty and as they sat, they turned us rudely and said that we needed a reservation after we spoke English....People laughed behind us. in our family during the order. our 12 y.o 15 y.o they were destroyed as they had never experienced this kind of customer service or lack there. we would never go back.
the hotel is located in the center, the environment is typical of the region and eating as well. Unfortunately we had a table inside (the terrace looked better.) eating was great, the service could be a bit more attentive (at the end we had...the feeling that we should speed up because they were closed.) but in any case a very good price for the worth.
here tonight, was a beautiful looking restaraunt, much character both inside and outside, was said that they need to reserve a table, but after 3 phone calls no answer, after the entry was asked whether we had a reservation, told them a bit hard if they did. not answer their phone, got a table as well as the next 3 groups behind us all said the same.
