I was in Mainz on business. As I love Greek food I always try and find a Greek restaurant when I 'm away. I found this place through TripAdvisor. It was the nearest to the Hilton hotel where I stayed. It 's only 10 15 min walk along...the river Rhine. First impression quite small, rustic, open fire and none of the usual Greek background music. A really nice cosy atmosphere. The menu is much shorter than the standard Greek restaurant in Germany. I asked the waiter for his recommendation. He recommended the lamb platter consisting of a lamb chop, a lamb skewer and a lamb fillet. It was served with sliced potatoes (no French fries on the menu), tzaziki and a side salad. I had the owner from the states emails and he gave me a whisper and a nice suggestion. that was delicious. he's been watching the weeping list and even showing me objects from his home. I enjoyed the atmosphere this evening....Search both inside and outside. eating was delicious and extremely generous. please support this local business excellent and just 10 minutes walk from the hilton
I love the salmon, lamb chops, calamari and everything else. Every meal is delicious and served with pride. The only negative is you can't be in any hurry. This is a family restaurant that does all the cooking and service. So if you want a...really good leisurely meal, this is the place. I suggest reservations as it is a small place that fills up nightly.
had diner there with my friend. we had a great evening. eating was really good, everything was fresh and homemade. the quality and the amount were very good. the tables outside are really nice when the weather is good. the service was also really...nice I can't wait to go back there and try other dishes.

that was the best Greek food I had since my trip to Greece! I love the atmosphere and the hostess. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high quality food and good ouzo.
I have been to Taverne Naxos last year. It took us a while to find the restaurant as it was a bit hidden . The food is pretty good there.
