"Salad baths in the French sauce, really so much that you could hardly see the fruits and salad ingredients. Kellner did not ask what sauce we wanted, it would have been useful and nice. The rest of our food was Canapés, they were OKish."

The tea and bakery despite its international fame showed a complete lack of customer service. They were rude and despite the fact that they were about 45 minutes before closing time they refused to serve us a dessert with tea. The dessert itself requires very little preparation as someone already prepared and placed in the refrigerator. It is amazing that in this day of booking Covid recovery a company has so bad customer service especially in an area that strongly supports tourism. Especially a waitress was rude. This is sad considering that the city itself is picturesque and has a great atmosphere and culture. This is especially true for the Sherlock Holmes Museum and all the wonderful his...

We spent a weekend in Meiringen and immediately after the arrival we stopped at this bakery before we entered the Aare Gorge. The bakery had a wide selection of desserts, breads, pastries and spices such as quiches. We chose a Berlin and an almond croissants; The latter was very good and had a lot of filling, the first tasted a little and was a disappointment. If I'm ever back, though I would give it another attempt to choose some local specialties for which they are more famous. In any case, probably the best bakery in the city still.

The Frutal Tea Room is a lovely cafe with super friendly staff, when asked for some information about the tea room, they came back with a whole printed document. This is also the perfect place to try the meringues in the town where they were invited. But their other cakes and pastries are also very good, heavy on taste rather than sugar. Their Sherlock Holmes cake is the perfect combination of chocolate an a crunchy meringue base, great afternoon treat before or after visiting the nearby Sherlock Holmes Museum.

We absolutely loved our breakfast and the whole bakery experience. It was so hard to select from the available selections so that we ordered a number of different things to try. And later took some medals to the hotel. As an experienced home baker, I was so excited to gather from the home of the Swiss coin and it was not disappointed.
