We had dinner here recently after not being here for a couple of years....we came away pleased and impressed - we enjoyed excellent service along with excellent food. Each of us enjoyed the Malpeque oysters followed by the Caesar salad which we shared. Unusual for us, and probably the first time ever at Teatros', both of us ordered pasta - the eggplant parmigiana and the seafood lasagne....dessert, again shared, was the cannoli and cappuccino....a lovely evening. Teatro's offers an extensive wine list...we had a lovely Volnay. The prices of said list are a bit daunting....a few more moderately priced might be appropriate and welcomed.
The restaurant is surprisingly small relative to what you would think in looking at the building from the outside, and the decor was interesting. Food was ok. Bruschetta was over engineered...classic tomato bruschetta was delicious, but ilkve tapenade was too salty (capers) and pesto was bland. Risotto was also bland, tho gnocchi was flavourful as was the tagliatelle bolognese. Wine list is pricey. Service was quick. Desserts were excellent. We had tiramisu as well as cannoli. Nice textures and flavour.
Amazing location, beautiful dining room for this upscale restaurant in the downtown. The food and service does not quite meet these heights....more functional than fun, competent than creative. The tasting menu focused on "menu" not "not taste" : five courses of which the Bison main was the best. Go a la catre for better options. Cocktails and wine list were done very well with decent options at a lower price point. Would go again but the lasting taste is one of potential not pizazz.
The Excellent were the Caprese. The tomatoes were fresh and terrific! The tiramisu dessert was incredible!The just OK was the Salmon. It was far too salty! The Poor was the Service. Our Waiter literally disappeared and we had to ask other waiters for more bottled water, etc.

This restaurant continues to serve great food at affordable prices. Their luncheon three course menu is excellent! And their wine menu outstanding! On a nice day, ask for a table on the outdoor patio...it is secluded with great trees surrounding it.
After a long day in meetings sitting outside for a refreshing drink was just what was needed. Great menu, and very creative list of cocktails. Not quite sure why mine was called Aesop's Fable, perhaps Tantalus would be better!
We have eaten here a few times and hosted a private event. The food and service has never disappointed. Just off of Stephen ave it is a must experience restaurant!
The starter bread served was really good I think it was Focaccia I ordered salmon on a bed of (some kind of) chickpeas and greens.
