Teranga is a fancy place. I visited the restaurant with a small group of people. We really, really, really enjoyed eating there. We cannot wait to go back.Teranga is beautifully decorated with traditional fabric from West Africa, visually appealing, contemporary wall paintings, and other decorations. We went to the Harlem location close to the corner of 5th Avenue and East 110th Street. You will see a building with flag designs on it as you approach Teranga. It appears that the Teranga Harlem location is open Saturday and Sunday. The Teranga midtown location is open Monday Friday. We received great service from the staff. They are very friendly and our waiter spoke multiple languages. Each of us...

This café is located in the African Center on the corner of 5th Street and Central Park North. The cuisine is African, with a limited but delicious selection, especially for vegans. The food is plentiful and flavorful. Other than the Jordan Pie Cafe a few blocks north, this is the best vegan-friendly restaurant in the area. This review was last updated on August 31, 2019.

There are a few vegan options available at this restaurant, but what was offered was delicious! It's a great place for a casual lunch with family and friends who may not be vegan but still enjoy the warm African flavors. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the drink selection was impressive. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.

A beautiful, welcoming space to grab a bite at the northeast corner of Central Park. When you walk in, the smell is incredible. The bowls we got (suya chicken and salad) were amazing. Well priced, great portions, better flavors.

Seriously good food: the chicken suya hits all the right smoky-tender-juicy notes, and the plantains were some of the best I've ever had. Book a table now
