During lockdown, I ordered takeaway from this restaurant and while I understand the limitations of food travel, the quality was disappointing. The Tom Yum soup lacked aromatic herbs, was overly salty, and had rubbery prawns. If this is considered authentic, I should apply for Masterchef next season. The beef salad contained mostly raw onion, overcooked beef, and minimal cucumber and tomato. While it was spicy, it lacked flavor. Unfortunately, most of the meal ended up in the trash and I was not satisfied. My wallet was also not pleased.
Firstly, the staff and food are excellent, I'd recommend it over most restaurants in Harrow if you like Thai food. We've been going here since it opened but now do more take away than sitting in due to the constant visits from the bikers working for Just Eat, Deliveroo etc, the door is a constant open and closing merry go round. It's great for the business though. It's a shame there is no back entrance. I'd recommend sitting on the right hand side if you can as the cold air wafts in during the colder months as the door opens.
Thai on the Hill is small inside and on the occasion we visited it was empty apart from the takeaway drivers coming in and out. This gave way for the lady owner frequently coming over to talk to us. The food was good sized portions but mixed reviews. The noodles were very greasy so not appetising with limited prawns, however the curry was nice. As we were the only customers it was also disappointing that we got charged for a hot water drink. Has potential to be great, however missed the mark this time.
Five of us went to this restaurant while visiting friends nearby, and our initial impressions were not promising. The restaurant was dimly lit when we arrived slightly before opening time, and it felt a bit chilly inside. Despite its small and simple appearance, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed delicious and authentic Thai dishes, and had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and we all left with smiles on our faces after a wonderful evening. This experience proved that looks can be deceiving. Book a table now
Deliveroo good service. Food varied compared to other Thai takeaways in Harrow. Dumplings tasty and moist. Main courses Thai like however the noodles stuck together in a lump not separate as other takeaways make which preferred and food a bit greasy as others mentioned. Worth a try though but we would order from other Thai restaurants or takeaways as pricey also.
Do not order from here! My order was given to a random member of my block of flats, not my household! This person left the food down stairs. When I tried to complain to them the did not take my calls! With the virus at the moment you would think that they would be extra careful about who they give the food to!
I decided to try this thai place in harrow. It's a cosy restaurant with a few tables. When I arrived for dinner, I was the only patron on a quiet Sunday evening. The pad thai was a bit on the sweet side. The chicken satay was ok but the sauce was too cold to my liking.
Went there for the 1st time. Ordered soup. Loved it so much. Delicious Thai curry and stir fry vegetable. I would definitely go there again. Very reasonable and prompt service. Was too full for dessert Book a table now
The Thai Beef and pad Thai were both tough and chewy, making them unpleasant to eat. However, the chicken Penang curry was enjoyable. I would not choose to return to this restaurant.
