Thai Talay is one of those rare, quality places located in a somewhat rundown commercial business strip along busy, busy Lincoln Blvd., a heavily used route to the airport. The restaurant itself has a very nice facade, however.We were there Wednesday evening, between rush hours (the hostess said lunch is busy during the week), and almost had the place to ourselves (it has a bar, too).I had a rice-bed dish, with shrimps, crabs, shallots (I think) and a number of other ingredients which, combined, resulted in a really good meal.My partner had a noodle soup of some sort which she enjoyed.The service was outstanding, and our very gracious and attentive server was all smiles all the time.Convenie...
My partner and I ordered takeout, and it didn’t take long for our food to be prepared. When we arrived at the restaurant, it appeared quite empty, with only one table occupied, which made me feel a bit discouraged since it was a Tuesday night. However, we picked up our food and headed home. The aroma wafting from the bag was incredible, and the food tasted even better. I had the green curry and seafood soup, both of which were hearty and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and I couldn’t even finish my meal. This place is definitely going to be our new favorite spot!
I just ordered the Spicy Basil Chicken, and I guess I didn't read the menu carefully. The dish was $16, but there was no rice included. I learned that it costs $3 for a small portion of rice! This is why so many restaurants are struggling. I won't be ordering from here again.
The generous portions and delicious food, combined with the exceptionally attentive and friendly service from Nikki and Book, have made Thai Talay our family's favorite spot for excellent Thai cuisine! Food: 5/5.

Delicious food and excellent service. The staff is very friendly, and there are plenty of options on the menu.
