We had lunch here on a quite sunday. Thai Thae (former boxa bar) is conveniently located close to Hurstville train station, parking and taxi rank. We ordered the salt and pepper squid as starter, crispy spiced pork in phi king sauce and the crispy barra in tamarind sauce. Tbh I was a little disappointed with the food. Squid was octopus covered in batter with no taste of salt or pepper. The crispy skin pork was overcooked to tough and the flavour was bland. Considering the reviews, I was expecting something special. It was a busy Saturday night and people were queuing to get a table however we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for our food. Mine came first and it was supposed to be satay noodles - no flavour of satay whatsoever. My friend's meal came 10 minutes later and she said it was nice. But we won't be going back, I refuse to wait that long for food.
FAVE Thai restaurant in Hurstville. We love the duck-gray, pork bone soup and stir up the pork belly. Food is really delicious and generous. Good customer service too. I wish you could have more dessert options to add the menu.
I eat here at least twice a week, amazing quality of food, ingredients are fresh, service is prompt and friendly, their starters are outstanding and my I recommend the Chicken Laksa or Spicy Noodles nom nom
