A lovely evening with okay food. The service was really good and the ambiance was vibrant. They were very accommodating for my dietary needs. I ordered the Vegetarian Rice Paper Rolls (they are vegan too), they were really fresh and light with the peanut sauce complimenting it well. A great way to start the evening. My friends both ordered Salt and Pepper Squid and Quail in Spicy Salt. According to them the salt and pepper squid was a bit bland but the quail was amazing. For main course I had Stir-Fried Vegetables with Garlic sauce (Vegan), i was disappointed as the vegetables were literally drenched in the oily sauce, the flavour was good but there was waaaay to much and it spoiled the...re...

Let me give you the brutal truth. If you're Vietnamese, you're not going to like this place. If you're non-Vietnamese, you'd probably will. And it's true, the place that claims to provide authentic Vietnamese food is catering mainly towards the white demographics. The fact that i was the only Asian diner there that night should had been an alarm bell to tell me to walk out but the weather was cold, and my family and i were very hungry, so we stayed for the food. My mum and i ordered pho with raw beef and it was a massive disappointment. It lacked depth in flavour, the noodles were broken into small strands, the fresh herbs were half wilted and the amount of beef in each...read more

My girlfriend and I ordered a takeaway from Thanh Binh, a popular Vietnamese restaurant in Newtown, for our dinner several nights ago. We tried their crispy chicken, fried spring rolls and beef pho. I would not comment on the pho since it was a takeaway However, the crispy chicken and spring rolls were nowhere near satisfactory. The pork spring rolls had a distinct pork smell and the chefs could do better to add ginger/spring onion to get rid of the unpleasant odor. The crispy chicken was not crispy and tasted tough and bland. Once again, marinating the chicken longer would help.

I had high expectations based on the Zomato score, but I found the meal to be just decent. The pho had a subtle fragrance, but some of the ingredients seemed questionable. The chicken in the Pho soup was dry, despite being plentiful. However, the jellyfish, prawn, and chicken salad was fresh, delicious, and had a nice mix of flavors. The portions were generous, and the pho broth was tender and flavorful. Some may find the texture of the noodles to be off-putting, and the dish seemed to be lacking in garnish. Overall, the meal was good but definitely overpriced at $24. Book a table now

It’s been about a week since I had the banquet there for a friend’s birthday and the main thing I remember now is that even though we told them we would be having the banquet when we booked, they somehow didn’t have the dessert dishes that night. Which is a real shame because I don’t compare restaurant desserts to Mum’s cooking and banana fritters and creme caramel sounded really delicious... The best dish that night was the claypot caramelised seafood.. To continue reading: imhangry.net/2017/05/11/thanh-binh-newtown/

I was recently there with my man. my man had the meeress noodle and I had the rare rinderpho for a quick lunch and both dishes were very good. make us confident to go back and try their other dishes. on the way out, do not forget to help yourself to the free coffee favorite kopiko lollies that were also good!

I have visited this restaurant several times. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, tasty, and fresh meal! It's conveniently located near Newtown Station, and I will happily return whenever I am craving Vietnamese cuisine.

Came in for lunch ordered prawn spring rolls, prawn papaya salad with rice crisp and seafood pho. All the food tasted very clean and healthy tasting and well made. Pho broth taste was nice. My favourite dish was papaya salad. Book a table now

The sour soup was fine, but there are better options available at other Vietnamese restaurants. The shrimp used in the scrambled eggs was unpleasant and chewy, tasting very low-quality considering the price.
